Hidden Gems: Meet Tracey Escobar of The Red Couch Medium

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracey Escobar.

Hi Tracey, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
April of 1990 my father unexpectedly passed away. I was 19 years old. This tragic event would be the catalyst to finding my passion and purpose through the pain I carried for over 25 years. I always believed in the afterlife, but I thought mediumship was a gift given to only a select few. It wasn’t until I went through a healing journey in 2015 that I learned that we all have intuitive abilities that we can develop. I started taking classes locally and by April of 2016, I embarked on a journey to Arthur Findlay College in Stansted England. Arthur Findlay is a Spiritualist College that teaches Mediumship to people from all over the world. I spent 7 days at the college training with some very talented Mediums and having my own real experiences with afterlife communication. It was after that visit that I knew this was something I was called to do. I began training intensely for the next five years. Pouring my heart and soul into learning, growing, and developing my abilities. I trained exclusively with Colby Rebel, Celebrity International Psychic Medium from Los Angeles, and became a Certified Psychic Medium under Lisa Williams International School of Spiritual Development. I am now a professional Psychic Medium with a successful practice. I teach and train others trying to develop their own intuitive gifts, developed and published my own Oracle Deck called Messages from Above, and I am about to release my book ” You Can Be A Medium, How I turned My Pain Into Purpose”. I am also the co-host on the popular podcast Metaphysical Happy Hour.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Any journey you embark on is just that, a journey. There have been many highs and many lows. It has been, at times, a gut-wrenching growth experience. I wanted to give up so many times. Many tears have been shed. I battled with self-confidence, worthiness, self-doubt, and fear. Was I good enough? What would people think about me? What if I get things wrong? Can I really do this? Getting past myself was my first obstacle. Once I got past myself, my next obstacle was how to I build my business? How do I build a clientele? How do I build credibility?

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Red Couch Medium?

The “Red Couch” Story:

How my business name came to be.

When I started my healing journey I began to meditate regularly. I was looking for healing and guidance. I wanted so desperately to hear and connect with my dad again. My own awareness started to grow and develop. I started having dreams that were coming true, I started to see colors more vibrant and clear. The color RED became very prominent for me. I was noticing red everywhere. There was one afternoon where I went for a hike at a Plano Park. I started to notice the red flowers in the pasture and red coloring on the trees. I stopped on the trail with a random thought…how strange would it be to see a red couch out here in the middle of nowhere. I am not sure where that thought came from or at the time what it even meant. But it left and impression on me.

Weeks later my dryer went out and I was forced to take my laundry to a laundry mat in Little Elm. As my laundry was drying, I went for a walk. There is a lake behind the laundry mat that I was going to go hang out at until my close were ready. As I walked around the building and into the pasture on my way to the lake, I was immediately faced with an abandoned red couch in the middle of nowhere. Dumbfounded, in shock, and in awe, I looked to the sky and said…’thank you dad”. That’s how the Red Couch Medium was born.
