Hi Wesam, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey in pharmacy began in Jordan, where I earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy while gaining valuable IT experience through a startup role in a tech company. This unique blend of healthcare and technology ignited a passion for improving patient care. After becoming a Pharmacist, and driven by a desire to expand my knowledge and impact, I pursued licensure in multiple states, this geographic flexibility allowed me to broaden my reach and serve diverse communities.
Throughout my career, I’ve thrived in various settings, from independent pharmacies like Xpress Pharmacy in Oak Lawn, IL to large hospital systems like Methodist Health Care in Texas. During my career, I tackled challenges like streamlining medication dispensing and ensuring patient safety through the optimal use of data, and technology. These experiences further solidified my commitment to both clinical excellence and efficient pharmacy operations.
In 2018, my pursuit of knowledge led me to become board-certified in Pharmacotherapy Specialty (BCPS). This rigorous certification granted me an in-depth understanding of medication use and its impact on patients with specific conditions.
Always seeking opportunities to share my knowledge, I served as a Certified Pharmacy Technician Accredited Program Instructor, helping shape the next generation of pharmacy professionals. This experience fueled my passion for creating educational resources, which culminated in the founding of “Albatanius” in 2020. This online education platform provides high-quality healthcare education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
In 2023, I founded Fillcera, a Pharmacy that merges my clinical expertise with a passion for patient education and technology. My goal is to empower individuals to take control of their health, providing comprehensive guidance and support, whether they require medications or not.
Looking back, my journey has been a continuous pursuit of learning, growth, and innovation. My experiences have equipped me to be a well-rounded pharmacist, educator, and entrepreneur. I’m excited to see what the future holds and how I can continue to contribute to this dynamic field that constantly evolves to improve patient care.

“Building Fillcera Pharmacy has been a journey filled with both triumphs and challenges. While my foundation in pharmacy was strong, transitioning from a clinical role to entrepreneurship was undoubtedly steep. Navigating regulatory hurdles, building a team, and establishing a brand identity were some of the initial obstacles. Balancing the demands of patient care with the operational aspects of running a business presented a unique set of challenges. However, each hurdle has been an opportunity to learn, adapt, and grow. Ultimately, these experiences have shaped Fillcera into what it is today.”

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is the exhilaration of Friday mornings spent playing soccer with friends. The shared energy and physical exertion were followed by the ultimate reward: a delicious Middle Eastern breakfast featuring fresh ingredients and delectable pastries. Those mornings, filled with the aroma of freshly baked goods and the taste of authentic flavors, are cherished memories.
