Hi Adel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When i came to a new country, i had one suitcase and big dreams. i didn’t know the language well. i didn’t know anyone. But i knew i wanted a better life.
The first few years were hard. washed dishes, cleaned buildings, worked construction—any job i could find. Some days i felt proud. Other days i felt small. People laughed at my accent. Money was always short. couldn’t pay rent on time.
There were many ups and downs. failed more than once. lost jobs. trusted the wrong people. felt alone.
But i kept going.
i learned how everything worked. Slowly, i moved up. After years of saving and learning, i started a small handy man business on my own.
It wasn’t easy. It was messy and stressful. But this time, i believed in myself.
i didn’t become successful overnight. It took struggle, tears, and long nights. But one day i looked around and realized—i made it.
Not because it was easy.
Because i never gave up.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not easy, it has not been a smooth road.
I faced many challenges along the way. Moving to a new country meant adjusting to a completely different culture, language, and way of life. Simple things felt difficult at first—understanding people, fitting in, and trying to prove myself. There were moments when I felt misunderstood and judged. I had to work twice as hard just to show what I was capable of.
I also dealt with disappointment and setbacks. Some opportunities didn’t work out. Some people I trusted let me down. There were times I questioned myself and whether I truly belonged.
It wasn’t easy emotionally or mentally. But each challenge helped me grow stronger, more confident, and more determined to keep pushing forward.
