My journey began with the idea of creating traditional dresses, scarves, and abayas that reflect modest fashion. After moving to the U.S. thirteen years ago, I found it challenging to find designs that resonated with me, which led me to start sketching my own designs on my iPad.
Through my research, I recognized the high-quality fabrics and skilled tailors available in Dubai. I chose Dubai for sourcing materials because I had been visiting this remarkable country every year and was continuously inspired by its vibrant fabrics and innovative designs.
After establishing my company in Dallas and completing all necessary paperwork, I set up an online presence to share my creations. I have successfully sold my designs to customers in over 15 U.S. states, as well as Canada, the Netherlands, and the UK. This journey has enabled me to celebrate modest fashion while reaching a diverse audience.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has certainly had its challenges, especially since I recently launched my business. While I’ve experienced some positive feedback and successes, there have also been hurdles along the way.
Navigating the complexities of starting a business, such as sourcing materials, managing logistics, and establishing an online presence, has presented its own set of difficulties. Additionally, reaching the right audience and building brand recognition takes time and effort.
However, I view these challenges as part of the learning process that will ultimately strengthen my brand and enhance my ability to connect with customers who appreciate modest fashion.
