Inspiring Conversations with Antonio Rozier MD. of The Science of Beauty Med Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonio Rozier MD..

Hi Antonio, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been practicing medicine in the Dallas–Fort Worth area for over 11 years. I moved here from Birmingham after completing my medical fellowship, and since then I’ve built a thriving Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine practice. Much of my work centers on patients living with chronic pain. Over time, I learned that chronic pain rarely exists in isolation, it often travels with anxiety, depression, and a deep loss of motivation. Simply put, no one in chronic pain is truly happy.

Early in my career, I sometimes felt frustrated. I was treating bodies, but I wasn’t always reaching people. What changed everything was listening. My patients became my teachers. Slowly, I began to understand that this work isn’t just about fixing body parts, it’s about helping people reclaim their lives. You can’t separate the body from the mind, and you can’t ignore the spirit.

That realization reshaped how I practice medicine. I began emphasizing fundamentals like nutrition, movement, mental health, and personal meaning alongside traditional treatments. The results were undeniable. Patients improved faster, sustained their progress longer, and began learning how to live well instead of simply surviving. I also incorporated medical cannabis into my practice to help reduce reliance on opioids, which led me to speak and advocate throughout DFW and in Austin for responsible, evidence-based cannabis use.

During this time, I also had the privilege of serving on medical mission trips across the world including in La Paz, Bolivia, Haiti, and Kenya. These experiences deepened my understanding of healthcare’s global disparities and the profound impact of compassionate care delivered where it’s most needed. Volunteering abroad reinforced that medicine is not just about treatment but about connection, cultural sensitivity, and empowering communities. These missions challenged me to adapt, learn, and grow both as a clinician and as a human being, and they continually inform how I show up for my patients here at home. Medical mission work gives care where access is limited, strengthens healthcare systems through collaboration, and often yields lasting positive outcomes for communities and volunteers alike.

My first formal step into wellness came alongside my partner, Jelani Ingram, MD. We initially founded a virtual reality marketing company, then pivoted after COVID toward corporate wellness. That evolution led to the creation of FitIn15, a company built with several partners. Through FitIn15, we work with small and large businesses to keep employees healthy, motivated, and informed. We offer accessible exercise programming, nutrition guidance, and at-home activities such as yoga and boxing.

As my curiosity continued to grow, I became increasingly focused on the body as an integrated system rather than a collection of isolated parts. That journey led me into the wellness and aesthetics space. After serving as medical director for a med spa, I co-founded The Science of Beauty with my partner, Brittanny Deen. While we offer high-end aesthetic services, wellness is the heart of what we do. I now integrate medicine, nutrition, fitness, and performance optimization through hormone balancing, peptides, and regenerative approaches.

At this stage of my career, my work is about alignment, aligning the body, the mind, and the habits that allow people not just to function, but to thrive.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the first big lessons I learned was how to run a business, something they absolutely don’t teach you in medical school. Stepping into private practice felt like being handed the keys to a car without ever learning to drive. I had to figure out everything on the fly, hiring, building operational systems, purchasing supplies, billing workflows and literally every piece of the puzzle.

Before FitIn15 existed in its current form, we were creating at-home exercise videos and gaining momentum. Then COVID arrived, and suddenly everyone, including major fitness brands with far bigger platforms, was doing home workout content. Competing in that space became nearly impossible. So we pivoted. We discovered our strength wasn’t generic content, but customizable wellness solutions for companies. Once we focused there, everything clicked.

Then came The Science of Beauty, our med spa. We built our space from a raw shell, and what should have been a straightforward build turned into a full construction saga. There were contractor delays, supply shortages, missteps, and setbacks galore. It took way longer than we ever imagined. Ultimately we had to wear the contractor hat ourselves, navigating every challenge head-on, and when it was finished, the result felt like a testament to grit, vision, and sweat equity.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was definitely the kind of kid who felt a little out of place. Honestly, I was a self-proclaimed nerd before I even knew that was a “thing.” While a lot of kids were focused on games or pop culture, I was happiest in science classes, volunteering at zoos and aquariums, and trying to understand how living things actually work. I often felt like I didn’t quite fit the usual mold, but that just pushed me toward the things I genuinely loved and made me curious about the world.

I was also always an outside kid. When I wasn’t absorbed in science, you could find me riding my bike or cruising on my skateboard, soaking up fresh air and exploring wherever the wheels took me. And even though I loved being outside and learning, I wasn’t initially into playing organized sports, which sometimes made me feel a bit different from the crowd.

As I got older, I found ways to grow beyond that “nerdy outsider” label. In high school, I competed in wrestling, which taught me discipline, commitment, and mental grit. I also had the honor of serving as class president, where I learned leadership, responsibility, and how to bring people together, skills that still guide how I lead and care for others today.

Looking back, those early years of feeling curious, different, and adventurous helped shape who I am: someone who blends scientific curiosity with real-world experience, resilience, and a deep appreciation for connection and growth. Those traits are the foundation of how I approach beauty, wellness, and care in everything I do.
