Inspiring Conversations with Ashley Jenkins of Emerald City Money

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Jenkins

Hi Ashley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was the first in my family to graduate from high school and college, and I’ve always set high standards for myself—as a scholar, senior leader, and peer helper. My drive has always been rooted in a genuine desire to help others, not to fit any superficial idea of success. But despite my achievements, I found myself repeating some of the financial patterns I grew up with. I realized that breaking free from generational cycles wasn’t as simple as I’d thought, and life handed me some hard lessons to reinforce that.

After my divorce, I faced significant financial setbacks and the responsibility of providing for myself and my three wonderful children on my own. It forced me to take a new approach to money—I needed it to work for me, to create stability and a legacy for my kids. That experience inspired me to create Emerald City Money, not just as a business but as a movement dedicated to empowering others to take control of their finances, protect their assets, and build lasting wealth.

Today, I’m deeply committed to sharing my knowledge with my children, giving them the tools to break the generational financial patterns that were passed down to me. Through Emerald City Money, I’m on a mission to help others build a better relationship with money, live fully, and create a legacy for their families. Every client I work with is part of this journey, and I’m grateful for each step that has led me here.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s definitely been a challenging journey. After my divorce, I faced financial setbacks and the full responsibility of providing for my kids. That forced me to rethink my approach to money, aiming not just to get by but to build a secure future.

Breaking free from the financial patterns I grew up with wasn’t easy, even with my education and drive. Building Emerald City Money was my way of creating a different path, both for myself and for others who feel stuck in similar cycles. Each struggle taught me resilience and fueled my mission to help others create financial security for their families.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Emerald City Money isn’t just another business, it’s a movement with a mission. We’re here to help people take real control of their finances and break out of the old patterns that hold them back. We specialize in personal finance strategies that cut out taxes, eliminate unnecessary fees, and reduce risk, with a focus on building wealth that lasts.

What makes us different is that we don’t just sell products. We educate, empower, and meet each client where they are. We’re known for helping clients think about money in new ways, whether that’s through tax-advantaged tools like Indexed Universal Life policies or personalized coaching that transforms their relationship with money.

I’m most proud that Emerald City Money has become a place where people feel safe learning and planning for their future. It’s not just about finances; it’s about creating a legacy. If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s that we’re here to make sure you’re building the kind of wealth that will impact generations.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about our city is the sense of possibility! It feels like everyone here is working toward something bigger, whether it’s building a business, supporting their family, or creating a legacy. There’s a strong community vibe, and I’m constantly inspired by the resilience and ambition of the people around me.

On the flip side, what I find hardest is the financial gap that still exists. It’s difficult seeing people working so hard and yet struggling to get ahead. That’s what fuels my passion with Emerald City Money, to help bridge that gap and bring real financial empowerment to more people in our community.
