Inspiring Conversations with Brittney Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Williams.

Hi Brittney, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a Marketing Consultant & Digital Content Creator for Small Businesses and Startups. And the CEO/Founder of Brittney Williams Marketing Consulting. My inspiration for wanting to develop my own business started very young, and I pretty much have always had a love for creating and developing things, reading, writing, telling stories and being able to naturally establish relationships with others. Providing advice, and ultimately just being creative overall, that caught the attention of others. So, by the time I got to my senior year in high school, I knew Marketing was my thing/my it factor.

I got a chance to develop my craft even more throughout college while attending the University of North Texas (where I studied Entrepreneurship and Marketing) and onwards through the various corporate management positions, I held with integrated Marketing, Advertising, and PR agencies within the DFW area over the years. Before finally taking my leap of faith to venture out on my own and do marketing MY WAY.

Ultimately I just knew corporate life wasn’t for me. I enjoyed working on the big accounts and with well-known clients/brands. However, I wanted to help small business owners and startups with their marketing needs and be able to get them to that point as well by providing them with the feel and work quality of the big agencies on a marketing budget they personally have. I ran across so many people that always had questions about marketing, or how to grow their business with using their social media platforms, how to make their pages appealing to their followers, etc. and how they could grow offline as well. So, while I was still working my corporate job at the time, I began to do freelance work on the side, which began the process of my business ‘Brittney Williams Marketing Consulting’ and furthering my passion to consult and educate other business owners about online and offline marketing. Why it’s beneficial to their business success and creating engaging/eye-catching/relatable and valuable content to make their brands stand out and reach their target audiences. Small business and startup owners are just as important as the big companies and I wanted to set out to be able to create a strong personal brand and full-service marketing agency that reflected just that.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road for me. But I always knew going into business for myself would bring some challenges that I would have to push through. Every day is a learning experience. Starting a business is not easy and I’ve been through a lot on my journey thus far over the years. My real challenges started well before I began my business. In my freshman year in college I lost my dad, who was one of my biggest supporters and best friends. Losing him really put me in a position at that time I didn’t know how to come out of. Although losing a parent is something you never fully get over, it has for sure made me even stronger over the years and more resilient to certain obstacles I have incurred thus far with entrepreneurship.

Some of which were getting a handle on my work-life balance, learning to say no to things and certain people that deemed as not a good fit for business, and really just knowing my worth, remembering my WHY and remaining confident through my entrepreneurial journey. I am a strong believer that everyone is destined for success. We all were given special gifts and talents, and it’s important that we not give up on our dreams just because things appear to be difficult or not going the way we intended them to. I love encouraging and motivating other entrepreneurs on this very note because you will be tested, but know that God has your back and you were already designed to receive the success you dream of, regardless of any challenge that may come your way.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Brittney Williams Marketing Consulting is geared towards helping and leveling up small business owners and startups with their online and offline Marketing, Content, Branding, and Social Media needs, who have smaller budgets needed to obtain their ultimate marketing goals. Which I help them reach through Social Media, forms of PR, Digital graphics and Effective marketing tactics and strategies. Plus, an array of available add-on services I offer outside of my general consulting and marketing/social media packages for businesses to take advantage of.

As far as specialization, I would say one of them would be social media and content creation. Being that social media is pretty much the go-to for most consumers and businesses still today as it is both used to interact with one another and is really an amazing space for businesses to grow their brand and shed light on their products and services. I really love the fact that my clients enjoy what I do and I have been able to work with them to develop their brand’s voice & style, find their true target audience, and help in creating an experience for their consumers/followers. I’m most proud of the fact that my clients truly trust in me and my business to take their marketing to the next level. The feedback is great and based on the work we’ve done together and the moves we’ve made. There has been a lot of #glowup happening lately for us all. I’m honored to be a part of their journeys, as well as their stories and I’m focused on continuing to do even bigger and better.

I am also the Founder/Creator of The Creative Juices Group (@thecreativejuicesgroup), an online social space & community I developed for other Female Creatives of Color and #Creativepreneurs. To shed light on them and their work behind the scenes, to get and stay inspired, provide useful tips to help grow their business and marketing, provide opportunities to network and connect with other creatives such as Digital content creators, social media marketers, photographers, bloggers, graphic designers, videographers, social media influencers, etc. and provide a space where they can be seen, heard and supported. I feel what sets me apart from others is simply that, ME and my style, my form of creativity and how I am able to uniquely engage with both my client’s followers and my own. As well as my versatile work background, which has truly helped in a lot of areas for client and personal projects.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories would definitely be the summer vacations with my family. We usually always did road trips to our chosen destinations and I always just loved the fact of being able to look at the scenery along the way, stopping at different local stores within the area we were in, listening to the music in the car, playing games with my sisters and really just the family vibes. I’d also say Christmas, as it’s always been my favorite holiday (not just for the presents, lol) but really for the decor, the feels/vibes, family, weather and food.
