Inspiring Conversations with Carla Shellis of Carla Shellis Enterprises

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Shellis.

Hi Carla, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I didn’t start where I am today with a big vision or a brand in mind. I started by being faithful with what was right in front of me—my home, my family, and the people God kept placing in my care.

I’m a wife, mother, entrepreneur, and homemaker, and at the heart of everything I do is a simple mission: to restore the heart of the home by restoring the woman. That calling was deeply inspired by my late mother, Bochy. She embodied warmth, strength, and quiet leadership, and I carry her legacy forward by helping women heal emotionally, live with purpose, and reconnect with their femininity.

Over the years, I found myself building and leading in many different spaces—from business and construction, to ministry, to founding and running a safe house for women who had escaped exploitation and abuse. In 2015, I founded a mission to fight sex trafficking, rooted in my belief that when a woman heals, generations are transformed. Walking closely with women in recovery changed me deeply. It showed me that real healing doesn’t come through pressure or perfection, but through safety, consistency, dignity, and learning how to live again from the inside out.

At the same time, I was doing my own inner work—learning how to regulate my emotions, restore relationships, renew my thinking, and create rhythms that brought peace instead of burnout. I realized I was sharing these same tools everywhere I went—around tables, in conversations, and through everyday life.

That’s how everything I do today was born. Through television, podcasts, social media, courses, journals, retreats, and The Freedom Formula, I equip women to walk in freedom and create homes filled with intention. None of this comes from theory—it comes from lived experience.

I’m still on the journey. I haven’t arrived. I’ve simply learned that freedom is something we practice daily, and it’s my joy to help other women learn how to do the same in their own lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh no not at all. I have had many challenges along the way. Some very tough and some that were bumps in the road. But I truly believe these obstacles and challenges in life are meant to refine you and not break you, if we allow them to.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At its core, my work exists to serve women, specifically the inner life of a woman and how that inner health shapes her home, relationships, leadership, and overall quality of life. My business spans education, media, lifestyle, retreats, and private mentorship, but the heart behind it all is very simple. Helping women restore emotional health, live with intention, and operate confidently in their feminine design.

I am especially known for my work on social media, where I teach everyday etiquette, emotional etiquette, hosting, and homemaking in a way that feels attainable and life giving. I bring these principles into real everyday moments, how we welcome people into our homes, how we speak to our families, how we carry ourselves, and how we create environments that feel peaceful rather than pressured. One of the most loved expressions of this is Carla Shellis Christmas, where I teach women how to nurture their homes during the holidays with warmth, tradition, beauty, and intention instead of stress and overwhelm.

Beyond digital education, I host The Experience retreats, which are immersive gatherings for women designed to restore both the heart and the senses. At these retreats, we dive into all the things that help women feel whole again. Emotional and relational healing, learning how to operate confidently in the feminine, and reconnecting with beauty, rest, and joy. We talk about mindset and relationships, but we also talk about what makes a woman feel pretty, grounded, and at ease in her own skin. It is a holistic approach to freedom, inside and out.

I have also launched Carla’s Table, which is a private mentoring and coaching community for women who desire deeper, more personal guidance. This is where women receive ongoing support, wisdom, and practical tools in a more intimate setting, around the metaphorical table, where conversation, growth, and connection happen naturally.

What truly sets my brand apart is that I do not separate inner healing from everyday life. I believe freedom should be lived out practically, in how a woman rests, hosts, leads, loves, communicates, and creates her home. My work blends emotional intelligence, faith, femininity, and practical life rhythms in a way that is approachable, sustainable, and deeply rooted in lived experience, not trends or theory.

Brand wise, I am most proud of the integrity and intentionality behind everything we offer. There is no hustle culture here, no pressure to perform or become someone else. My brand is about returning to peace, to purpose, to identity. I want readers to know that everything I create is an invitation for women to come back to themselves and to understand that when a woman heals and lives well, the impact reaches far beyond her. It touches families, homes, and generations
