Hi Carlos, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Montemorelos, Nuevo León, Mexico. When I was about 10 years old, my family migrated to the USA. We first lived in the valley of Texas for two years, but I grew up mostly in Maryland. After finishing high school at Spencerville Adventist Academy, I went to college abroad in Mexico. I spent two and a half years at Montemorelos University before transferring to Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas.
I’ve always been inclined to build my own brand and business, coming from a family that owns several businesses in Mexico. This passion led me to start Innova Print a place where creativity and ideas come to life. My father has been my biggest mentor, supporter, and one of my greatest inspirations throughout this journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like everything in life, it hasn’t always been easy. We are still a young company here in the United States, while also operating in Mexico, so establishing our presence here in the DFW area initially was a bit of a challenge. However, as time has gone by, we’ve been able to demonstrate the high quality of our products and services, as well as the exceptional customer service we provide.

We are a part of a Marketing corporation Named Innova Plus and I am incharge of the branch called Innova Print. At Innova Print, we are the creative heartbeat of our marketing corporation, bringing visions to life through high-quality, custom branding solutions. We specialize in transforming businesses and personal ideas into reality, whether it’s through hot-pressed apparel, detailed embroidery, custom patches, or screen printing. Our wide range of services also includes high-quality laser engraving, graphic design, custom promotional displays, and even custom canopies all tailored to elevate your brand.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Mentorship is a crucial part of personal and professional growth. We all need mentors in life not just for our businesses, but for our development as individuals. The best mentors guide us, challenge us, and help us see perspectives we might otherwise miss. To find a mentor, start by looking for people whose qualities you admire, whether in your industry or beyond. Building genuine relationships is key take the time to learn about their experiences, offer your own insights, and create a connection based on mutual respect and shared learning.
Networking is also about being authentic. Attend events, both in person and online, where people share your interests. Engage in communities that align with your values. What has worked well for me is showing genuine curiosity, being open to learning, and not being afraid to reach out. You’d be surprised at how willing people are to help when you approach them sincerely. Remember, it’s about quality over quantity; building deep, meaningful connections will take you further than simply collecting business cards.
