Inspiring Conversations with Chris Minicucci of Bee & Brew

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Minicucci.

Hi Chris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my company in 2015 after finishing my service with the Canadian military. I got a part-time job working with a local beekeeper outside of Quebec City and quickly learned about mead and mead making. In 2020 when the pandemic hit, we decided it was time to expand our business into the US and chose Fort Worth, TX. After a long journey, we are proud to say we are opening Fort Worth’s first Meadery and mead hall in June of 2022.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
As with any start-up, there are challenges along the way. For my Fiancé and I, the biggest challenge has been leaving Canada and settling in a new country. Thankfully we choose to move to Texas where everyone has been warm and welcoming. We were able to overcome many of the obstacles in our way because of the people that have gone out of their way to make us feel at home. It’s the people here that make this great state what it is and we are proud to be a part of that.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Bee & Brew is a Meadery opening in Fort Worth in the coming weeks. We specialize in producing alcoholic beverages made from honey. At Bee & Brew, we have one goal in mind and that’s quality. We strive to produce the best possible meads and that starts with the freshest local ingredients, whether it’s locally sourced honey from local beekeepers or fresh fruits grown right here in DFW. We have a long line of products from traditional honey wines, and bourbon barrel-aged meads, to session-style meads on draught.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I have learned is to appreciate every day. In business, there will be good days and there will be bad days and it is especially important to appreciate the bad days because they teach us to be thankful for the good days. I believe that everything happens for a reason and every hardship is a lesson, it’s our responsibility to learn from it.
