Inspiring Conversations with Christina Brooke of Mindful Brooke Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Brooke.

Hi Christina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Mindful Brooke Therapy grew out of a very real need I saw again and again in my work as a therapist. Too many people were reaching out for help and either couldn’t get a call back, couldn’t find the right fit, or felt lost in the process when they were already overwhelmed. I knew I wanted to create something different.

From the beginning, my hope was simple: to build a place where people feel cared for from the very first interaction. A place where someone actually answers the phone, where appointments are readily available and not just added on waitlists, where clients feel seen and understood, and where therapy is both compassionate and grounded in real, effective work.

I also became deeply aware of how important it is to care for the clinicians doing this work. Therapists carry a lot, and I believe they deserve to feel supported, valued, and respected. At Mindful Brooke Therapy, we are intentional about creating a healthy, encouraging environment for our clinicians. An environment where collaboration is welcomed, growth is supported, and no one feels like they have to do this work alone.

What started as a small idea became something much bigger thanks to the incredible therapists who joined this practice. Each clinician shares the same heart for people and commitment to thoughtful, evidence-based care. Together, we support children, teens, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, emotional regulation, and life transitions.

We believe healing happens in relationships and that therapy should feel safe, supportive, and human, for both clients and clinicians. That belief shows up not only in our sessions, but in how accessible we strive to be, including live phone and email support so people feel connected when they reach out.

I am deeply proud of the team we’ve built and the community we serve. Mindful Brooke Therapy exists to remind people that help is available, growth is possible, and no one has to walk through hard seasons alone.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There were a lot of moments where I was learning things as I went. One of those was trying to balance being a therapist, a leader, and a business owner all at the same time. Some of my days felt overwhelming, and there were also plenty of hard decisions without clear answers that I had to make.

Another big challenge was learning how to grow without losing what mattered the most: quality care, accessibility, and taking care of our clinicians doing the work. I’ve learned that growth isn’t about moving fast. Growth is about building intentionally, asking for help, and putting the right support in place. Those challenges shaped both me and the practice in deeply meaningful ways.

We’ve been impressed with Mindful Brooke Therapy, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Mindful Brooke Therapy grew out of a moment I experienced over and over as a therapist, watching and listening to people explain how they would reach out for help and struggle just to get a call back. I remember thinking, ‘this shouldn’t be this hard’. That moment stuck with me and became one of the main foundations of the practice.

Today, we work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, supporting people through anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Our clinicians are trained in a diverse set of evidence-based approaches such as DBT, CBT, and Solution-focused, which allows us to offer care that’s both structured and unique to each client’s needs, and compassionate.

What really sets us apart is how intentional we are about accessibility and connection. We offer immediate appointment availability whenever possible and make sure calls and emails are answered 24 hours a day, because reaching out for help shouldn’t feel like another obstacle. I’m most proud of the culture we’ve built: a practice rooted in care, responsiveness, and the belief that healing happens best when people feel genuinely supported.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t think of it so much as luck as I do timing, people, and being willing to say “yes” when things felt so uncertain or even scary. There were those moments when the right person showed up at exactly the right time, or an opportunity opened up when I definitely didn’t have everything figured out yet, or even at all. Sure, those moments felt like good luck, but they also required a lot of trust, faith, and courage.

At the same time, there were plenty of setbacks that probably looked like bad luck especisally from the outside, such as things not working out, plans changing, or doors closing unexpectedly. Looking back, many of those moments pushed me to slow down, rethink things, and make better decisions for the long run. If anything, I’ve learned that what feels like luck often comes from showing up consistently, staying open, leaning on faith, and being willing to learn along the way.
