Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Rangel.
Hi Christine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In late 2018, I was looking for a new way to bring in extra income—something flexible, creative, and on my own terms. I volunteered to be a lash model for a friend, and from the moment I experienced the transformation, I was intrigued. It didn’t take long for me to realize that lashing could offer more than a typical part-time job ever could.
Curious and inspired, I enrolled in a lash certification course—and I fell in love with the process. The artistry, the connection with clients, the financial potential—it all lit a fire in me. In April 2019, I decided to take things further and invested in a Lash Academy where I became licensed.
As my skills grew, so did my vision. I realized I didn’t want to be limited to just one service, so in 2020, I went back to school and became a licensed esthetician. I saved, planned, and eventually made one of the boldest decisions of my life—I left my 9–5 corporate job and opened The Beauty Library. It was the most empowering step I’ve ever taken.
Since then, I’ve continued my education and earned multiple advanced certifications in lash extensions, lash lifts, waxing, and facials. But my true passion has always been lash extensions—it’s where I feel the most creative and fulfilled.
In 2022, I taught my very first student, and by the end of that year, I was regularly enrolling students in my Lash Masterclasses. To date, I’ve trained over 150 students, helping them build confidence and success through lashes, lifts, and wax.
What started as a spark of curiosity has turned into a thriving business, a growing community, and a purpose-driven path that I wouldn’t trade for anything.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been smooth—and honestly, I don’t think entrepreneurship is meant to be. It will test even the strongest people. I’ve faced financial struggles, wrestled with mom guilt, and missed out on moments that mattered. There’s no such thing as perfect work-life balance when you’re building something from the ground up—it’s more like a dance. Sometimes it’s graceful, sometimes it’s messy, and sometimes you have to take a few steps back just to make a greater leap forward. And yes—sometimes I stress out, cry about it, and consider throwing in the towel… but then I put my big girl shoes on (usually with lashes still half on) and get the job done anyway. What I’ve learned is that failure isn’t final—it’s a lesson. Every setback has shaped me, refined me, and pushed me closer to the woman and business owner I’m becoming.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a licensed esthetician, lash educator, and the proud owner of The Beauty Library—a bilingual beauty brand and training studio where artistry meets education. I specialize in lash extensions, lash lifts, and waxing, but my true passion lies in empowering others through education. I’m known for creating a welcoming, hands-on learning environment where students leave feeling confident, skilled, and supported—even after the training ends.
What sets me apart is my commitment to quality, my love for teaching, and the fact that I’ve built this business from the ground up with heart, hustle, and a whole lot of faith. I teach all my classes in both English and Spanish, and I keep my groups small or offer 1:1 options so every student gets the attention they deserve.
While education has become a major part of my brand, I still actively provide services—and I truly love every single one of my clients. Their trust and support mean the world to me, and I’m incredibly grateful to still be a part of their beauty routines. Serving them has kept me grounded and inspired throughout this journey.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how many students I’ve helped launch their own careers. The Beauty Library isn’t just a salon or a training studio—it’s a space where dreams get organized, skills get sharpened, and confidence gets built.
Whether you’re looking to enhance your natural beauty or start a new career in the lash industry, my goal is to make sure you leave feeling empowered and excited for what’s next.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was the creative, nerdy kid with a book always nearby and a million ideas running through my mind. I loved to help, was always trying something new, and probably had five hobbies at once thanks to my ADHD. One of my favorite book series was The Babysitters Club—especially the first one, Kristy’s Great Idea. Something about a girl with a vision and the guts to turn it into a business really stuck with me. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was already drawn to entrepreneurship. Whether I was reading, crafting, or imagining my next big idea, I was always creating something. It’s no surprise that all those little passions would one day lead me to build a brand of my own.
