Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Hemsley.
Hi Courtney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Courtney Hemsley, the President of Empire Development Solutions has over 25 years experience in Development, Ground up Construction, Finance, and Real Estate.
Courtney began her Construction career in 2001, on a job site as a Project Manager for Multi-Family, Single Family, and Retail developments nationwide.
Here is where she gained hands on experience as an Owner’s Representative & General Contractor to read & scale blueprints, complete job estimates & contract agreements, work with city officials for permitting & inspections, coordination of Sub Contractors, management of project budget & timeline, and overseeing the project to completion.
In 2008, Courtney added to her Construction expertise by creating a niche in the Commercial Finance space with a heavy focus on ground up Construction & Rental Portfolio Lending, making it a mission to better the finance options for Builders & Investors.
Lastly, through her network & trusted relationships she provides Private Investors a resource to put their money to work in Construction & Real Estate projects.
In addition, Courtney serves as a Board Member for the Dallas Housing Foundation which has a focus on providing affordable housing for the community. Therefore, breaking the cycle of poverty in the Families we serve.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
With Construction being a Male dominant industry, some would consider being a Women in the space a challenge. I have viewed it as an inspiration to exceed others expectations & prove I am exactly where I am supposed to be, therefore the industry has made me the best version of myself.
Walking on to a job site where they expect you to know less, gave me the drive to learn & prepare more. The only way to earn my place in this industry was by taking initiative, demonstrating my expertise, & delivering results.
It is often that we try to fit in & go unrecognized in spaces where we look or feel different, but being “different” has been the difference in my success & making an impact as a Women in Construction.
I am most proud to say that my role as a Women in construction has encouraged my Daughter (Zairyn) to join me in business and I look forward to leading the path for many other Women in Construction.
