Inspiring Conversations with Daphney Acevedo of Auraliri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daphney Acevedo

Hi Daphney, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Purpose is a tricky thing. Most struggle to know what exactly their purpose is. For some, the feeling is there but the words fail to present themselves. This feeling, whether it be intuition, resonation or even strange familiarity, is often the first clue into what your purpose is. My journey is no different. I struggled with differentiating my purpose and the expectations others tried to enforce on my path. Ironically, my purpose was communicating to me before I was even aware of its existence. In high school, we had an assignment to write a poem and answer reflection questions about this very topic. To ask hormonal 15 year olds what they want out of life and how they will show up for the world, while simultaneously lecturing them on their inexperience was a contradiction I couldn’t help but point out. Thank you active throat chakra!

Still, I handed in my assignment and went about my adolescent life. It wasn’t till years later that I came across the very poem. The poem writes, “maybe my purpose will eventually change… I guess my purpose is greater than I ever thought before….. my purpose now is different from my purpose in the future.” In a way I intuitively knew that my purpose was bigger than the unwarranted pressures and opinions of outsiders. And I knew that It would change as I evolved, I just didn’t know how.
Fast forward a few years later, Auraliri started off as a horoscope page to give people insight that they needed to get through their day to day. Through time and practice of my gifts, I realized that my purpose was bigger than personal development. My purpose centered around building community, and guiding others towards their true selves.

At the time Bri, my best friend, had formed a business branding agency. And although she hadn’t officially joined Auraliri until summer 2022, she was with me through the beginning of building the business. Through our unofficial meetings, she used her skills to help me define what I wanted the Auraliri brand to be. It only made sense to later make it ours and have her join so we can build something together, because we realized the power we have when we combine our gifts.

In a way when I look back it has always been ours. Our biggest roadblock was reframing our mentality around this new joint venture, because neither of us had this in our life plans. We were both in college, both planning out our careers, both striving to fit the uniforms iron-pressed and delivered by societal norms. I was almost done with my forensic psychology degree. I always knew I wanted to help others, so psychology made the most sense. The beginning was met with a lot of inner opposition because psychology and spirituality tend to be put on opposite sides of the spectrum.

At the same time, Bri was finalizing her bio-sociological degree and planning on going to medical school to enter the pharmaceutical sector. Her vision of healing was to partner with the makers of modern medicine to heal people in the very neighborhoods of Brooklyn she grew up in. Two best friends, both wanting to help the world, both feeling like we had to keep this part of ourselves dormant to survive. Only thing is, we did not want to just survive.

We decided to be the example and strategized our shared vision of helping people heal and navigate life with education, services and guidance. We both were burdened with figuring it out on our own and only having each other. It doesn’t help that most spiritual teachings talk about this journey as a solo one, encompassing deep reflection and long periods of isolation. Through our experiences as individuals and our commitment to our friendship, we realized the healing power in community.

Auraliri by name, stems from my middle name Aliris. “Aliris” represents the desire to be independent, a leader, someone who is creative, ambitious and strong – willed. However, a business built on community can not be named after one person, so that’s when we combined our creativity and came up with Auraliri. Aura is the luminous energy that surrounds your body, giving you and others around you a snapshot into your vibration and the current state of your chakras. The “liri” is homage to those very qualities Bri and I desired within ourselves and wanted to see in our community.
In essence, Auraliri is a brand for creative leaders/truth seekers of society. Whether it’s leading your business to success or leading yourself down a new path, we created this brand to serve people who are ready to take ownership of their journeys. Our offerings are thoroughly constructed to be accessible to all ages, all genders, all educational levels and even multiple languages. Our commitment to accessibility is rooted in our shared belief that in this lifetime, we are all making the active choice to dismantle limiting beliefs, generational trauma and anything that gets in the way of you showing up as the best YOU. You deserve community, you deserve support and you deserve to show up as the most authentic you because that is where your divine purpose lies. It’s not what they told you, you could be. It’s not what service you can do for others. It’s how you show up in your most authentic self even when no one is watching.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There were moments when we both wanted to walk away, frustrated by slow progress, lack of bookings, and struggling to attract the right clientele. Like many entrepreneurs, we had to learn through trial and error, navigating failed partnerships, collaborations that didn’t align, and situations where we had to clean up messes we didn’t create.

One of our biggest setbacks was losing access to our original Instagram page, forcing us to start over from scratch. On top of that, we had to rebrand our business after dealing with people stealing our ideas. It was discouraging at times, but every challenge taught us valuable business lessons about resilience, discernment, and protecting our work.
Despite the obstacles, these experiences made us stronger, sharper, and more intentional. They pushed us to refine our vision, set better boundaries, and build something that can’t be easily duplicated. The road hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has shaped Auraliri into what it is today, and we wouldn’t trade that growth for anything.

We’ve been impressed with Auraliri, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Auraliri is a brand meant to help others through their self discovery journey and how to step fully into their power. I realized when first starting out like many businesses that in order to transition this into a long term business I wasn’t going to be able to do this alone. That’s why it works for Bri & I, because we don’t have the same strengths and weaknesses. Bri prefers to run business operations, manage projects and excels in the aesthetics of the business, whereas I prefer to take care of clients, and deal with the more interpersonal parts of business. I was never the best when it comes to the organization of business whereas Bri prefers isolation and strategy so it works! Overall as a business we specialize in leadership, transformation and setting up individuals to succeed according to their divine blueprint. As far as individually, I specialize in spiritual guidance, mentorship, reiki, sound healing, quantum healing, and marketing. Bri specializes in abundance work, business operations, launching new ventures, branding, and project management.

Brand-wise, we’re most proud of the community we’ve built. Auraliri isn’t just a brand, it’s a movement. We’ve created a space where people feel seen, supported, and free to explore their spirituality without judgment. We are known for helping individuals discover their purpose while also setting them up with ways to monetize their gifts or find a field of work that is right for them.

For those looking to step into their power, whether in personal transformation or business, Auraliri offers a range of digital resources, intuitive business consulting, and spiritual mentorship designed to help you grow in alignment. Our mission is simple: to guide you in bridging the gap between the mystical and the modern, so you can create success on your own terms.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The COVID-19 crisis reinforced just how important adaptability, digital presence, and community are in business. When the world shut down, everything shifted online, and businesses that couldn’t pivot struggled to survive. For us, it was a wake-up call that having a strong digital foundation isn’t optional, it’s essential. One of the biggest lessons we learned was the power of accessibility. More people turned to spirituality and self-discovery during isolation, looking for guidance, healing, and connection in the digital space. This pushed us to expand our offerings, refine our messaging, and make Auraliri a space where people could find support no matter where they were.

Social media became the heartbeat of connection during the pandemic. It allowed us to reach new audiences, share valuable insights, and build a community in ways we couldn’t before. Platforms like Instagram, Threads, and Facebook helped us create a two-way conversation with our audience, making it easier to provide support, education, and engagement in real-time.

At the same time, we also saw how oversaturation and misinformation can be overwhelming. That’s why we made it a priority to stand out with authenticity and clarity, staying true to our brand rather than chasing trends or following the noise.

The pandemic ultimately taught us that connection and digital adaptability are the future. Social media isn’t just a marketing tool, it’s a community-building space that, when used intentionally, can transform how we engage, grow, and serve.
