Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My real estate journey began in late 2019, right before the pandemic disrupted the world. I initially entered the mortgage industry back in 2008, focusing on the servicing side. After experiencing several layoffs, I made the decision to switch gears and pursue a career as a Realtor. Starting out in the midst of a pandemic presented significant challenges—I didn’t close a single sale in my first two years, which left me feeling disheartened. However, during this period, I dedicated myself to learning, expanding my network, and intensifying my marketing efforts.

In 2022, I took a leap of faith and decided to focus on real estate full-time, joining a team to support my growth. By the end of the year, I had completed 24 transactions, ranging from home purchases and sales to land acquisitions, investment properties, and rental deals. My efforts were recognized with multiple accolades from my team and brokerage for both sales performance and service excellence.

My proudest moment came in 2023 when I was named one of the Best of Dallas Realtors by DMagazine. Now, in 2024, I’m part of a dynamic team of women, and we’re on track to help even more families achieve their dreams of homeownership this year and in the years to come!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My road to success in real estate has been a tough journey. One of the most significant obstacles I encountered was launching my career just as the world was grappling with the onset of the pandemic. The uncertainty of the market, coupled with lockdowns and restrictions, made it incredibly difficult to connect with clients and build momentum. For the first two years, I struggled with the reality of no sales, despite my best efforts. It was a period filled with self-doubt and frustration, but also one of growth.

Another challenge was transitioning from the mortgage servicing side of the industry, where I had spent over a decade, to becoming a Realtor. While my background provided me with valuable insights, it was a steep learning curve to adapt to the fast-paced, client-facing side of real estate. The industry is highly competitive, and standing out among seasoned professionals required not just skill, but also strategic networking and relentless marketing.

Additionally, the constant changes in the market—whether due to fluctuating interest rates, evolving buyer preferences, or regulatory shifts—have demanded that I stay informed and flexible. Balancing these external pressures while trying to establish myself in a new career was a daunting task. However, these challenges have shaped me into a more resourceful and resilient Realtor.

Through perseverance, continued education, and the support of a strong team, I’ve been able to overcome these obstacles. Each challenge has been a stepping stone, pushing me to refine my strategies and ultimately contribute to my success in the industry. Today, I can look back on those early struggles as key moments that prepared me for the achievements and milestones that followed.

Another exciting area of focus is embracing new technology and marketing strategies to stay ahead of industry trends. This includes leveraging digital tools to enhance the client experience, from virtual tours to personalized marketing campaigns, making the buying and selling process more efficient and accessible.

Ultimately, my long-term vision is to establish my brand as a go-to resource for all things real estate in the Dallas area, known not only for our sales success but for the genuine relationships we build with our clients. I’m looking forward to continuing this journey, helping more people achieve their real estate dreams, and making a positive impact on the communities we serve.
