Inspiring Conversations with Denique Peavy of Sauce

Today we’d like to introduce you to Denique Peavy.

Hi Denique, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Well, entrepreneurship has always run in my family. My grandmother Ethel Shaw owned an infamous boutique by the name of “Fashion Touch Boutique” in Mississippi, and she specialized in Women and Men’s Formal wear. So being around tailored suiting was a way of life. She inspires me so much! Love you, granny.

Also, my father was in the military, so we traveled frequently. We lived in places such as Germany, Hawaii, Mississippi, and Texas throughout my dad’s career. All of these places have influenced my personal style tremendously. The Hawaiian Islands was a melting pot full beautiful and diverse cultures. I remember family outings in Waikiki and taking notice of individuals with oversized garments and draping silhouettes. They were so stylish to me!

Texas Culture has this phrase “Sauce” that is synonymous with style that influenced my brand logo that my team helped me design and trademark. Back in 2016, I was conducting a lot of industry research and taking trips frequently to L.A to visit my cousin who would allow me to stay for weeks at a time while I worked with a manufacturing consultant to help source factories that could bring my product vision to life. Also, I couldn’t help but be inspired by the fashion in L.A as well as the massive mountains that overlook the oceans in California along with all the culture in Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, and West Hollywood.

All of my experiences have resulted in an eye for style that is very distinctive and exclusive in nature.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all. I’ve dealt with a lot of individuals that conducted bad business initially. So, there was a lot of learning and growing pains early on. Initially, sourcing took sometime because I would not settle for anything less than the best quality.

Finding a production team to help bring my brand vision together was also a hard task. I am very selective with who I work with because the output has to match the vision in my head exactly, and sometimes people do not take your vision as seriously as you.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Sauce offers traditional Neapolitan tailoring combined with modern styling to create exclusive looks with a collection of fine selected fabrics.

We take the time to ensure sustainable sourcing and quality of all the materials we use and pride ourselves in exceptional customer service.

There is a quote by Plum Sykes that says, “S0me people just have an eye for beauty that other people don’t have. They can see that something is beautiful. Before people might be used to that look.” That is the essence of the “Sauce” brand.

I am proud of the overall luxury feel the brand has across all platforms and the exclusiveness customers receive when shopping with us. It took years of hard work to get to this point. I wanted to make sure our customers were receiving the best quality and great service. I have a very strong desire to make our customers feel their absolute best when they are styled as well as creating an edge in each custom look to make them feel more confident about their style.

I am also proud of the online presence. We grew our YouTube platform to over 12,700+ subscribers in four years. We are in the process of releasing some fresh content really soon.

All appointments can be booked through our online platform saucecultureusa.com. Just click the Neapolitan Tailoring icon on the main page to get started today!

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I really love the culture, and big city feel in Dallas, Tx. Also, the city is very diverse and family oriented. Although, I wish Dallas had a beach.
