Today we’d like to introduce you to Denise Wolford.
Hi Denise, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Being in the DFW area since 1969 looking back over my life I knew that dealing with unhealthy toxic relationships something had to change. After being in 3 toxic relationships it was abuser #3 that made me reevaluate my life not just for me but my two kids. On the evening of July 18, 1996, that was the straw that broke the camel’s back; when he got so angry for some odd reason, I can’t tell you to this day that he decided to take his AK-rifle threw it in the middle of the kitchen floor as it begin to spin & spin, I said to myself when this gun stops spinning and no bullets come out, I’m DONE! It stopped and it was quiet I walked outside my patio door looked up towards heaven and said is it time, I heard the voice of God say you can leave now. I took my purse, keys & my two kids out the door we went and haven’t looked back. Taking a leap of faith with 1 Unemployment check and really nowhere to live I trusted God to make a way and that he did. Ever since I left doors of opportunity’s just started opening. In March 2007 I formed an organization call All Women Marching for Hope I’ve been all over the world speaking against Domestic Teen and Gun Violence.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Seems like the more wisdom, knowledge, and understanding I get the smooth the road becomes.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are here to help change the face to domestic teen & Gun violence. We help victims find their voice so that they can be productive to society by loving themselves helping them find a job that they will enjoy doing not just to collect a paycheck but really enjoy working. Help them find a place where they can call home a safe peaceful HOME. What set us apart is that we get into the streets not behind those 4 walls to bring awareness about this vicious cycle call DOMESTIC TEEN & GUN VIOLENCE. We are most proud of that we have planted millions of good seeds in the lives of people through television radio & social media. Know that we are here to help with one-on-one counseling session, workshops, and more.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Taking a risk will allow you to see life from a different perspective and learn how to deal with different situations in life. Taking a risk will allow your faith to grow.
