Inspiring Conversations with Diyora Abdullaeva of Bookkeeping Impact

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diyora Abdullaeva.

Hi Diyora, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am proud to continue my father’s legacy by supporting the business owners. My father firmly believed that business owners make a real impact in this world because they create solutions that people are ready to pay for, provide jobs, and create better infrastructure for the community. My parents built an incredibly successful business in Uzbekistan that allowed me to move to the States when I was 23. Now I am 39, a business owner, a SCORE mentor, a happy wife, a mother of two boys, and a beautiful girl. My father was a farmer and I got his entrepreneurial spirit. When I fell pregnant with my first child, back in 2009, it was not “normal” to work from home, and employers did not trust that the work could be done simply via the internet. Remote office support was viewed with great trepidation and skepticism. It was during this pregnancy that I had a real inkling of what I wanted to create for myself – a job where I could easily balance work with a happy home, and help others do the same. It was not an easy path, but I am happy that I never gave up!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
At the start, back in 2009, people had an idea that the bookkeeper must sit next to the business owner or work at the office, not from home. Nevertheless, I believed in my business and continued working on it part-time, but I had to take a full-time job as an Accounting Manager or Controller at the office to pay my bills. When March 2020 hit, many business owners faced the fact that the only way to “survive” was to hire professionals working remotely. We onboarded many clients fast because we had an infrastructure to serve remotely. It was painful to hear the frustration of new clients who could not get help from their CPAs. However, with our support, all those businesses received grants and the loans they wanted. Moreover, when we compared our clients’ gross sales numbers in 2019 and 2021, they increased by 300% on average.
In addition, when I started my business, I was still going to school and working on my MBA and MS in Accountancy degrees. Moreover, motherhood became my new reality, so I had to learn to juggle all those responsibilities. In 2018, I had to face disability and practice new skills to continue my mission. Tell you honestly; they do not teach any of these in the MBA programs!

As you know, we’re big fans of Bookkeeping Impact. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My mission is entrepreneurs’ empowerment through business solutions in bookkeeping, financing business projects, and financial analysis. Our online bookkeeping services help business owners outsource their entire accounting department and focus on their customers, which has proven to increase sales by 300% on average. We provide customized services that help our clients to have timely and accurate visibility of the financial data for decision-making.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Persistence! I never stopped looking for solutions to serve business owners. My business is a projection of my life purpose: helping others have a better life. I see the bookkeeping services as my instrument. I observe how it is transforming the lives of the business owners who work with us, they feel more peaceful and confident about their enterprise. It ripples in their relationship with employees and clients. And from business relationships, it goes on to personal interactions and improves family life. Thus, happy bookkeepers create happy business owners and together we create a happy community!
I am in process of learning new instruments and my personal training/coaching program is coming up soon.
