Inspiring Conversations with Dr. Micah Bonola of Arise Health Chiropratic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Micah Bonola.

Hi Dr. Bonola, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in the DFW area and went to Baylor University pursuing the Pre-Med Track. When I was in school, I began to shadow various doctors including a chiropractor who had tremendously helped my mom. I learned that my mom was in a car accident when I was a child and had lost feeling in her fingertips. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, as a result. After a second opinion, she was told she had a pinched nerve and needed spinal surgery. After receiving the various diagnoses, a friend of hers referred her to a chiropractor who began treatment on her.  Her symptoms not only began to clear, but are now gone.

After hearing this story, I shadowed that chiropractor that helped my mom and was so impressed by the stories I heard in his office by his patients. I was blown away that adjusting the spine helps the nervous system and body to function as it is supposed to and that symptoms can clear. I went to Parker University in Dallas and then worked in practices in Denver and the DFW area with various types of chiropractic care including brain injury cases, auto accidents, curve correction, prenatal, pediatric, and family chiropractic.

In April 2021, I opened my own practice in Grapevine, Texas called Arise Health Chiropractic. My practice consists of Prenatal/ Post Natal Care, Pediatrics, Lip Tie/ Tongue Tie Revision work, and Family Care. The vision for this practice is that families as a whole can receive chiropractic care for overall health and wellness. I love being in practice and getting to serve the families that walk through my door.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think one challenge is wanting to start a business or practice, but not knowing when or how. It can be challenging to open a business, yet at my core, I knew I should. I was always writing ideas down even in school of what I would like my practice to look like or the patients I wanted to work with. When the opportunity was ready, the door opened and I made the jump into entrepreneurship. I am so glad I did!

I would encourage that if something is placed in your heart to begin! Make the leap! It is so worth the jump, and you have what it takes!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
Prenatal, Pediatric & Family Practice

I work with prenatal/ postnatal mothers with Webster’s Technique that helps the spine and pelvis to be in proper alignment while preparing for birth. The postnatal work is to provide support and healing to the spine as the mother is recovering from pregnancy and birth.

I also work with pediatrics, including newborns that balance their nervous system after birth while also supporting the child as they are reaching various milestones in the most prominent neurodevelopment in their first years. Alongside this care, I help with Lip and Tongue Tie pre/ post revisions with chiropractic adjustments and craniosacral work.

Lastly, I work with regular spinal care with families, including athletes, car accidents, regular maintenance care, etc.
