Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebere Oyekwe.
Hi Ebere, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been that person who loved sharing things online: travel moments, lifestyle hacks, random thoughts. But funny enough, starting a business or becoming “the tech girl” was never part of the plan. It all shifted the day a friend said, “Why don’t you talk about what you do in tech?” So I made a simple video breaking down my job in data and AI. I didn’t expect much, but the response was wild.
People were curious. They wanted to understand tech, but the information out there felt too complicated, too serious, too… not human. That was my lightbulb moment. I realized there was a huge gap, not in interest, but in how tech was being explained.
So I kept going, sharing tech in the same way I shared lifestyle and travel: fun visuals, simple language, and zero intimidation. It was different from the corporate tone everyone was used to, but that difference became my superpower. People connected with it. They trusted it. And slowly, it grew into something bigger.
That “something” is now the platform and community I founded to make data, AI, and tech feel accessible, especially for people who don’t come from traditional tech backgrounds,
Today, Nelotechie is a blend of education, mentorship, career guidance, and storytelling. We help aspiring professionals break into data and AI roles, understand how technology fits into their careers, and build personal brands that open real opportunities. What makes our work special is how practical and human it is. We don’t just teach concepts, we show how they apply in real life.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding our learning programs and building even more resources for career changers. My goal is simple: help people step into the tech world with confidence, clarity, and a genuine sense of belonging.
So that’s my journey, from sharing random moments online to building a growing tech community that empowers people to learn, pivot, and thrive.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’d love to say the journey was perfectly smooth, but that would be a beautiful lie. It’s been a mix of clarity, confusion, courage… and a few “what on earth am I doing?” moments.
One of the biggest challenges was figuring out how to balance creativity with credibility. I wanted to make tech feel simple and human, but that wasn’t the “standard” way of doing things. There were moments when I wondered if people would take me seriously because I wasn’t following the corporate blueprint. But leaning into my voice is what eventually set me apart.
Building Tekdlin also came with its own hurdles, navigating business structure, creating educational content that actually transforms people, and building community from the ground up. There were days when engagement dipped, ideas flopped, or the tech just refused to tech.
But each struggle taught me something important: growth isn’t linear, and clarity often comes from doing, not overthinking.
So no, it hasn’t been a smooth road. But it’s been a meaningful one. Every challenge has shaped the way I teach, lead, and show up for the people who trust the work we do today. And honestly, I wouldn’t trade that process for a shortcut.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
When people hear about my work, many immediately think of Nelo, the creator, but another project I’m incredibly excited about is what I am building at Tekdlin LLC. It’s the home of our learning platform, and right now, we’re building something that I believe will shape the future of hands-on tech education.
We’re currently upgrading our LMS into a brand-new project-building portal designed for learners who want more than theory. One of the biggest challenges in tech today is that beginners often have knowledge but no real way to practice. So we’re solving that by giving people a space to work on real-life, portfolio-ready projects, projects that actually show employers what you can do.
What makes this platform special is accessibility. We’re making access completely free, because we want beginners to explore, experiment, and grow without the pressure of cost. Whether you’re pivoting into data, engineering, analytics, or AI, you’ll have a place to test your skills in a guided, practical way.
I’m really proud of how intentional the build has been. The team and I are focused on making sure the experience feels simple, supportive, and confidence-building, especially for people who didn’t start their careers in tech.
And the best part? We’re working very hard to have it live by the start of Q2.
If you want to be the first to know when it drops, follow my personal Instagram page. I share updates, behind-the-scenes progress, and launch information there. We’re creating something meaningful, and I can’t wait for learners to finally get their hands on it.
This is more than a product, it’s a bridge for beginners, career changers, and anyone who wants to step into tech with practical skills and a portfolio that speaks for them.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success isn’t one big moment, it’s the ability to stay consistent, even when things get messy. I’ve had plenty of failures along the way, but showing up again and again, holding onto the bigger vision, has made all the difference.
I’ve also learned that success isn’t a solo sport. Accountability has been a huge part of my growth. Having a solid team around me keeps me aligned, focused, and grounded. They remind me that I don’t have to carry everything alone, and that support system is what keeps me steady through both the highs and the lows.
So my definition of success is simple: keep growing, keep showing up, and keep the right people close.
