Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Chicarelli.
Hi Haley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, thank you so much for having me! I’d love to introduce myself and my background. Background wise, most of my jobs have been some flavor of food service or customer service. I love working and interacting with people! Bartending has been a passion of mine since the day I turned 21 and started looking to learn the trade, for context I recently turned 25. I created this company in September 2020 so that I could keep pursuing my passion for mixology while the world was shut down due to COVID. I had no idea that this passion project would grow to where we are now in only two years! We’ve expanded from just offering wedding bartending to also servicing birthday parties, corporate events, and event teaching mixology classes.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I started this business, I worked a full-time job and went to school full-time at the University of North Texas. Honestly, my biggest struggle was learning how to manage my time and how to create an appropriate work-life balance. During Fall of 2021, I was working/studying over 80 hours a week and ended up getting sick and having to take a couple weeks off. During that time, I lost my full-time job and my studies suffered due to all the stress and overwork. Even though that was a rough patch, it honestly ended up being the wake-up call I needed to regulate my life and get everything back on track! Thanks to that I graduated from UNT in May of 2022 with a bachelor’s in chemistry.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Haley’s Happy Hour?
Well, Haley’s Happy Hour is a mobile event bartending company that services the DFW metroplex and beyond! We travel to you and your guests to serve specialty-crafted cocktails and mock-tail beverages. From wedding receptions to mixology classes to birthday celebration. We love to be part of it all!
What we are known for, and also what I am most proud of, is our extensive selection of specialty cocktails and mocktails. Our company’s slogan is “signature cocktails for all occasions.” What that means to me is that every client deserves the opportunity to have a custom-made drink for their special events or to choose one of our unique options that speaks to them. We are also working on revamping our website to have multiple tabs for different styles of drinks (specialty cocktails, mocktails, and a full seasonal menu)
What do you think about luck?
Luck is a funny thing since some people think it doesn’t exist at all and some consider it to be a fickle force. I honestly never really attributed the successes or losses we’ve accrued over the last couple of years to luck. Myself and my staff have worked tirelessly to get where we are now, and while we have had some good fortune, I think the overall product is due to that hard work. I can only hope that we continue to work so hard and produce wonderful results!
