Inspiring Conversations with Jack Olea of Frontstar Construction

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jack Olea

Hi Jack, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised at the border, deep south Texas in the Rio Grande area between two worlds and two nationalities but always closer with my Mexican side and culture. For many years since I turned 16 I was chasing the dream of becoming a rockstar, and I did it in a local and regional way.
During my school years I played with my first Metal Band named ¨Fallen¨ on every stage and venue that invited us in our hometown, once I finished college at 21 years old I joined to the Hard Rock band named ¨Black Noize¨ wich already had a studio album and music on Spotify. We made a couple music videos that still on Youtube and we started touring in the largest and most important cities in Mexico and Texas. During our golden age we got to play at big festivals along with rock legends such as Kiss, Korn, Misfits, Rammstein, Five Finger Death Punch, Twisted Sister, Rob Zombie and more. With such local popularity I began to do modeling and acting projects like runaways and photoshoots for some regional brands and TV commercials for some local companies and 2 independent horror movies that still streaming on Amazon Prime.

After 5 years of music career the band got stuck and all members part away. I moved to Mexico City trying to focus on a modeling and acting career but after 3 months struggling in that monster city I moved back to my beloved Texas and decided to work hard for a complete year in a refinery in Houston as scaffold builder to save some money and finally move to my dream city, the Big D, Dallas.

After one of the hardest and challenging years of my life I finally moved to Dallas to start over and put down roots. I started working with my uncle who has working in construction for more than 20 years. With him I learned everything about building codes, tools, materials, standard dimensions, construction process and safety procedures, and I acquired the skill in most of the construction crafts. As an artist I always felt attracted to the art of architecture, design and construction, so I found the passion for what I do really quick.

After 3 years working and learning with him, I finally decided to start my own dream, being my own boss and having control of my time. Here´s when I founded my company Frontstar Construction, LLC. With only 2 years officially in the market we have been serving the entire DFW , building dreams from design, planning, construction or remodeling to the final result, your dream house, kitchen, bath or any other kind of space. With our 5 stars google profile, we serve every customer with integrity, honesty, equity, quality, respect, professionalism and clear communication.

Currently, I´m a 33 years old entrepreneur, proud husband and father and God´s server that works as the CEO of Frontstar Construction with the mission to build a lot of more dreams in our community and help and coach the new generation of builders, remodelers or entrepreneurs to run in a successful way their businesses and reach their dreams in the construction field.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Most of the obstacles that have been crossed along the way are all those barriers that we ourselves put in our minds. I think the 3 most common mind barriers for any entrepreneur are the fear of failing, the doubt of being capable or smart enough to make it and the importance of the opinion of others. For those reasons the following questions begin to spin around in your head.
Should I quite my job where I have a secure income weekly not matter what happened? What if I fail? Will my family be disappointed? Could I get my old job back? Will my friends make fun of me? What if I am not smart enough and I just mess it up and lose my savings? and the questions could keep going and going. Well, I went through all those questions and I think that was the most challenging obstacle in my life, but I always kept the same answers in my mind and heart and that was key to be in the place I am now. “Me and my family deserve something way better” “If I fail I will learn and I´ll keep trying it” “My family love me not matter what” “That`s not negotiable” “My friend respect me not matter what” “I am capable, smart and successful” and most important… “With God everything`s possible”.
