Inspiring Conversations with Jacqueline Anaya of Calisience

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Anaya.

Hi Jacqueline, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Calisience in July 2019 out of my apartment. I’ve always wanted to share my food with as many people as possible but never thought it would happen so quickly once I started. I bought a food truck in payments owner to owner in November 2019 and opened on February 1st, 2020. I believe Calisience has been successful because of the great team I have. I also believe in myself and my vision. Signed a lease for a brick-and-mortar July 2021 off Race Street. We’re looking to open summer 2022 and provide an even better experience.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Takes deep breath) No. It has not been easy. The truck is a 1980. It has many problems and not comfortable or convenient at all. In the winter it’s extremely cold and summers extremely hot. We’ve had to cancel multiple events because it’s not dependable. Many more things in between the truck and just growing pains of a new business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Calisience ?
What sets Calisience apart from others is consistency and quality products. I don’t sacrifice quality for anything. What I’m most proud of is the ability to make my customers happy. I’ve met some incredible people because of the industry. To be able to share my talent makes it all worth it.
