Today we’d like to introduce you to Janae Gipson.
Hi Janae, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Greetings! We’re Janae and Shawntay — coworkers, best friends, and now proud founders of Organized and Beautiful. Fun fact: our names rhyme, but we aren’t related — unless you count our kindred spirits and shared passion for transforming chaos into calm. Our bond is as strong as our purpose.
Our journey into professional organizing started from two very different places, united by one purpose: helping others reclaim not just their space, but their peace of mind.
Janae was born a minimalist. Even as a child, cleaning her room meant more than tidying up — it was a thoughtful process of asking, Do I really need this? More often than not, the answer was no. That early instinct to evaluate, streamline, and simplify never left her. With a background in compliance, Janae brings structure and systems to our business. She’s a powerhouse of discernment, communication, and strategic thinking — and the administrative backbone that keeps our projects moving forward.
Shawntay, on the other hand, grew up surrounded by clutter — the product of second-generation hoarding. She knows firsthand how overwhelming and emotionally complicated a disorganized space can be, and the toll it can take on families. Her gift? Seeing past the piles to the potential. Through personal experience, she’s developed deep empathy and sharp project management skills, helping clients navigate the emotional terrain of downsizing and letting go.
Together, we bring balance. Janae brings the logic; Shawntay brings the heart. Janae creates the blueprint; Shawntay helps bring people through the door. Our clients often say we don’t just organize their homes — we bring peace, dignity, and a fresh start.
At Organized and Beautiful, our mission is simple: to help people feel good in their spaces — and in their lives.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a small, passionate team of working mothers, we’ve learned to be intentional with our time and energy. In an industry that thrives on aesthetics and visibility, one of our biggest challenges has been keeping up with marketing — particularly social media and visual content creation. But instead of seeing this as a roadblock, we see it as an exciting opportunity to grow.
We’re preparing to expand our team by bringing on someone with a true passion for digital storytelling — someone who can take the reins of our social media presence, build our digital footprint, and create promotional content that authentically reflects our brand. We also plan to collaborate with a local professional photographer to beautifully capture our clients’ transformation journeys — from cluttered chaos to organized peace — and use that content to inspire others.
But our vision doesn’t stop at marketing. We’re actively investing in tools that will allow us to work smarter, not harder. Currently, many of our administrative tasks — from contracts to invoices — are handled manually. To improve our client onboarding experience and boost internal efficiency, we plan to adopt Docusign for seamless digital documentation, as well as accounting software to automate billing and expense tracking.
As our business scales, we’re laying the foundation for smooth team collaboration. Project management software will help us stay on track with deadlines, assign tasks, and communicate clearly as we grow. We’re also exploring payment solutions like a card processing terminal through our bank, making it easier for clients to pay on the spot with confidence.
And since we’re in the visual business, having access to tools like SketchUp Pro will allow us to design custom floor plans and layouts for our clients — turning ideas into beautiful, functional realities. Not only will this elevate our client experience, but it’s an opportunity for us to deepen our own design skills.
Beyond software, we’re investing in the hardware that makes our day-to-day operations possible. Dedicated computers will allow us to support clients with secure scanning and digital storage of important keepsakes. And as big fans of labels (you might say we’re label-obsessed), we plan to upgrade our printers and laminators to continue creating high-quality, branded labels for each project. One of our long-term goals is to launch a product line of custom labels — available for purchase on platforms like Amazon — extending our reach beyond in-person services.
Each of these investments represents more than just a business need — they’re part of a bigger vision. We’re building a company that’s not just organized and beautiful on the outside, but deeply intentional on the inside, too.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Organized and Beautiful?
At Organized and Beautiful we believe that home organization should do more than just tidy up a space—it should offer lasting solutions that evolve with your life. We’re not just about downsizing and de-cluttering; we focus on implementing tailored systems that are easy to maintain, giving you a clutter-free home that also leaves room for growth. Our process starts with a consultation where we listen to your needs, followed by a carefully planned, step-by-step organization strategy. Whether you’re looking to optimize your living space, streamline your routines, or preserve memories with thoughtful keepsake organization, we ensure that every room is functional, cohesive, and beautifully organized to give you peace of mind in your space.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
We love showcasing our work, but the constant need to post, edit, caption, and engage online can be exhausting — especially as moms running a business! That’s why expanding our marketing team is so high on our wishlist. We’re organizers, but even we have limits! Manually creating invoices, contracts, and tracking expenses without automation slows us down — which is why we’re working on building smarter systems because there’s nothing quite like seeing a client walk into their newly organized space with fresh eyes — often in awe, sometimes in tears. That sense of relief and pride they feel? It’s everything.
We love helping clients overcome emotional blocks around clutter. Whether it’s inherited items, gifts, or memories attached to things — guiding them through that process with compassion is a true honor. We find the right solution for each client — from storage systems to layout optimization. It’s like solving a beautiful, functional puzzle. We’re not just here to make things look good for a day. We love teaching clients how to maintain their systems, so the transformation is long-lasting and empowering.
