Today we’d like to introduce you to Janelle Rodriguez.
Hi Janelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started when I had my first daughter. I didn’t want to work a corporate job and leave her with a babysitter but I still wanted to be able to make my own money. That’s when I started my first business, Sweets and Berries by Janelle. It’s definitely been a rollercoaster ride but I wouldn’t want it any other way. Challenges have taught me lessons that I wouldn’t be able to overcome if I didn’t go through it personally. Fast forward to now almost 9 years later, and both my Sweets and Berries by Janelle and J & H Unforgettable Events businesses are THRIVING! I’ve been able to network with many people, including UFC prospects, Music Managers, Comedians and much more! It’s truly a dream come true because all those long nights didn’t go unnoticed.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With any business, it’s never a smooth road. You come across many obstacles. People wanting you to fail, things you plan doesn’t go as planned and just everything in between. But you gotta look past all the struggles and see the bigger picture at the end of the tunnel.

J & H Unforgettable Events is an Event planning business that really does it all. Everything from event coordination for Quinceañeras/Weddings to Coordinating Pop up/Networking Events. One of the main things I’m known for from my business is helping Small Businesses strive and gain more exposure. That’s really key in my eyes. I would have to say I’m most proud of how far everything my husband and I have done to bring so much love to the community through our business.
