Today we’d like to introduce you to Jarrell Blacknell.
Jarrell, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Believe it or not, my startup was pretty random. During the pandemic, I literally… out of nowhere took a liking to mixing and making my own drinks. My drinks were always freestyled pretty much. I have yet to write down a recipe, it’s all from memory and just what my brain comes up with at that moment. I began to slowly start passing my creations out to friends and family at parties, or when we all just hung out. After some months, a friend of mine told me I should start taking it serious, and see if I can make a business out of it. And here I am, a year and some change later, trying to create a business out of a hobby turned passion.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say it’s been a smooth road so far. I worked for Exxon for 10 years, so this was always just a hobby. Due to our team being laid off in August, I ramped up my production and decided when I return to work, it will be me working for myself. So, the smooth road is still TBD, only time will tell.
We’ve been impressed with HEAVY DAIQUIRIS 2GO, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created HEAVY DAIQUIRIS 2GO LLC in January 2021. Right now, I’m making my own daiquiris created by me and only me. I differ from others because I truly create my own flavors, while still incorporating alcohol. Many have gravitated to me because the way I present my daiquiris and the thought behind them. Right now, I tend to be more on the ” gourmet” daiquiri side, but when I open a storefront store (hopefully next year) I will incorporate the original style daiquiri machine operation, while still including my original creations.
