Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffrey Buster.
Hi Jeffrey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After spending many years with one of the largest MRO organizations—and working my way up from the ground level—I made the decision in 2015 to chart my own course. That decision led to the founding of Buster’s Industrial Supply. It was a moment marked by equal parts optimism and uncertainty; with no safety net, success would depend entirely on execution and perseverance.
Over the past decade, the business has weathered significant challenges and change, including economic volatility, a global pandemic, supply-chain disruptions, tariff shifts, and constant market evolution. Ten years later, Buster’s Industrial Supply is operating from a position of strength—supported by exceptional customers, a growing product portfolio, dedicated team members, and meaningful opportunities ahead.
Technology continues to reshape how business is conducted. While the MRO and industrial supply sector has historically evolved more gradually than many industries, we are now experiencing a substantial transformation. The pace of change is demanding, but also promising. By remaining disciplined in our strategy, investing in strong partnerships, and staying true to our core principles, we are confident in our ability to grow and adapt within an increasingly dynamic supply and technology landscape.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been smooth—and it is important to be honest about that. Anyone who suggests that business ownership is easy or predictable is not telling the full story. As noted earlier, the journey has been defined by significant highs and lows, many of which continue to present real challenges today.
Ongoing economic uncertainty, geopolitical instability, and persistent supply-chain pressures have reshaped the landscape. At the same time, large national players are acquiring smaller businesses at an unprecedented pace, making competition increasingly difficult for independent companies. Rapidly evolving technology has created a continuous need for education and adaptation, while an aging workforce has accelerated the responsibility to develop the next generation. Too often, younger talent lacks the confidence or perseverance required and disengages before reaching even the first meaningful milestone.
It has been a long, demanding road. However, Buster’s Industrial Supply remains focused, disciplined, and fully committed to moving forward. We continue to adapt, invest, and compete with intention—because for us, failure is not an option.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Buster’s Industrial Supply is a relationship-driven industrial MRO provider serving contractors, manufacturers, and service professionals across multiple trades. We specialize in delivering reliable, application-specific solutions—not just products—across core categories including safety, abrasives, cutting tools, welding, fasteners, chemicals, and general MRO supplies.
What sets us apart is our consultative approach. While many suppliers focus on transactions, we focus on outcomes. Our team works closely with customers to understand how products are actually used in the field and to recommend solutions that improve efficiency, safety, and overall cost of ownership. In many cases, that means helping customers move away from “standard” products toward better-performing alternatives that save time and reduce waste.
We are particularly known for our expertise in abrasives and diamond tooling, where correct product selection can dramatically impact productivity and job quality. Our customers rely on us not only for competitive pricing, but for practical guidance backed by real-world experience. That trust is something we have earned over time and do not take lightly.
From a brand perspective, what we are most proud of is consistency—consistency in service, accountability, and follow-through. We compete daily with much larger national suppliers, and we do so by being responsive, adaptable, and deeply invested in our customers’ success. Our brand stands for reliability, straight talk, and doing what we say we will do.
We want readers to know that Buster’s Industrial Supply is built to be a long-term partner, not just another vendor. We combine the reach and resources of a modern industrial supplier with the attention, expertise, and integrity of a locally owned business. As the industry continues to evolve, our commitment remains the same: deliver value, solve problems, and earn trust—one customer at a time.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is trust—earning it, maintaining it, and never taking it for granted.
In industrial supply, trust is built through consistency: doing what you say you will do, standing behind your recommendations, and showing up when it matters most. Our customers rely on us to support their operations, their timelines, and in many cases, their safety. That responsibility is not something I take lightly. One poor decision or broken commitment can disrupt far more than a single order.
Equally important is building a business that values accountability and long-term relationships over short-term wins. I believe in creating an organization where customers feel supported, employees feel respected and challenged, and partners know they can depend on us. That focus has guided every major decision I’ve made—from how we serve customers to how we invest in people and technology.
Ultimately, what matters most is building something that lasts. A company known for integrity, reliability, and real-world expertise—one that customers choose not because we are the biggest, but because we are trusted to get it right.
