Inspiring Conversations with Jeremiah Jennings of God’s Order Barber Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Jennings.

Hi Jeremiah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

My name is Jeremiah, but everyone who knows me calls me “Jerm.” My journey as a barber began unexpectedly while I was attending the University of North Texas in 2020. When COVID hit, I started to realize that pursuing a degree wasn’t something I was passionate about—and honestly, I didn’t know what I truly wanted to do.

During the lockdown, I began watching YouTube videos on how to cut my own hair, learning from creators like 360Jeezy and Chris Bossio. Over time, I got pretty good at it, and that’s when barbering started calling to me. My roommates and even a coworker at Domino’s Pizza began asking me to cut their hair. The moment I took on those first cuts, I knew this was something I wanted to master, no matter how long it took.

I remember spending 6–8 hours a day watching tutorials—not just on cutting hair but on the lifestyle of barbers who were earning six figures. I believed I could do it too. Eventually, I set out with a mission: to attend barber school and get my license.

The first school I enrolled in didn’t work out, so I continued practicing on my own. I traveled around DFW doing house calls for $25, eventually raising my price to $50. When car issues came up and I still didn’t have a school selected, I moved back home and came up with a new plan—cutting hair out of my parents’ garage. My mom believed in me and even invested in my first barber chair, which I still use today because it holds so much sentimental value.

Before I knew it, I had built a loyal clientele from my garage. Eventually, I was able to enroll at Paul Mitchell Barber School, where I earned my license. While there, I had the honor of being mentored by NAHA Educator of the Year barber John Mosley, who helped elevate my skills to a whole new level.

While in school, I worked part-time at a shop in Watauga until I got my license. Once licensed, I opened my own suite in Watauga and built my business to hundreds of clients over a couple of years. Then I felt a calling from God to move to Dallas. Since January 2025, I’ve been operating my studio, God’s Order Barber Studio, and I feel the name perfectly reflects my journey.

Since re-establishing in Dallas, I’ve met an incredible range of clients—including celebrities, athletes, influencers, and amazing everyday people. I’m excited to continue growing, always giving the glory and honor back to God.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

It hasn’t always been easy. I paid a portion of my barber school tuition out of pocket, dealt with car troubles, and had to move back home at one point. The move to Dallas was also challenging in the beginning. But each of those obstacles shaped me and strengthened my determination.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

I’m a master barber specializing in all hair textures and styles. I’m known for delivering both clean, natural cuts and enhanced styles, always taking the time to ensure my clients leave with their best look. For me, the client’s experience and satisfaction come first.

In addition to barbering, I plan to expand God’s Order into a clothing brand—continuing to build on the vision and values that started this journey.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love Dallas for its entrepreneurial spirit, incredible networking opportunities, and the energy that comes with a growing, vibrant population. So far, I honestly haven’t found anything I dislike—I’m loving every moment of being here.
