Today we’d like to introduce you to Jody McGlothlin. Them and their team shared their story with us below:
GCA was founded by Jody McGlothlin, a certified school teacher that graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Education Degree. McGlothlin soon developed a homeschooling program to fit the lives of local cutting horse participants and their families. After proving the school program successful for nearly seven years, she decided to expand and offer this great program to others in the area that would be interested in participating in a “small-town private school environment” with the flexibility of homeschooling.
McGlothlin, at first, visualized the idea of Grace Christian Academy with a private preschool and kindergarten, as well as an accredited homeschool program for first grade and higher. God truly worked in the success of GCA and grew it from the small seed McGlothlin visioned to a fully accredited private school for Pre-K through 12th grade, with two campuses. Through hard work, determination, and perseverance, GCA was founded and is now open to serve others as they look for high-quality education with Christian standards. Jody states, “I personally love what I do, and strive to make a difference in the lives of children and their education each day.” McGlothlin has stepped out of the classroom but continues to oversee the quality education presented by her fellow teachers that have joined her team at GCA.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. There are always obstacles that come with a growing and changing organization. Finding building space and employees who are a good fit are just a couple of the struggles we have faced while building our school. While it may seem smooth from the outside looking in, there are challenges that we have faced that are only visible to my family.

Grace Christian Academy is a nationally accredited private school. We strive to provide a close family atmosphere and do so by maintaining a low student-to-teacher ratio. Grace Christian Academy is special in that we offer a four-day school week, a University model education (two days on campus and two days of work from home) and a distance education option. The distant program allows for students to earn a private school education while working 100% from home or on the road, as most of our distant students are horse show, rodeo, or travel team kids that spend a large portion of their time on the road traveling to events. We are proud of the top-notch education that we offer and of the amazing people that we release into the world upon graduation. In fact, all of the Seniors last year (C/O 2020) received scholarships to the school of their choice!

Our journey has been full of hard work but absolutely amazingly rewarding.
