Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Upton.
Hi Joseph, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started out in the hospitality industry, when Covid hit. I was out of a job. A good friend of mine got me a job as a project manager at a small roofing company in Dallas, within that time I learned the ins and outs of the business, I really enjoyed solving problems as the way came up, coordinating the trades, building relationships with homeowners and insurance companies. I excelled within the company becoming a top performance employee, selling over a million dollars in sales within a year. I felt like I hit a celling within the company, the felt the calling to stretch myself and start my own company.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
With roofing, there is storm season Q2 that you receive 80% of you business. I started the business in the slowest quarter Q1. I like to joke around and say no one wants a roof from Thanksgiving to New Year’s. Everyone is thinking about the holidays, not about. Home renovations I remember being 60 days in and saying to myself did I make a mistake. I just kept pushing through with my head held high and things started to come together.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Rebuild And Restore roofing is a family owned DFW based company. We specialize in storm damage restoration. DFW is the second largest location in the whole United States for wind and hail damage. We are a insurance claim specialist company that helps you get everything you deserve through your insurance company that will get your home to or storm condition, we repair and replacement gutter, fences interior damages, Sheetrock garage doors, solar. Anything that you can think of that has been weather related damages, what sets us apart from the other guys is we are not storm chasers we are locally owned and operated. We aren’t a large company with a maxed out over head trying to sell to private equity maxing out there profit, “we chose people over profit. With our company”
How do you think about happiness?
I love my family, I have a beautiful wife, that is my world, she passionate about education and has her Dr.. EDD we have two children so far a two year old girl Levi Grace and a 7 month old son John Luke. We love to travel, we are going to the Winter Olympics in February, we love Europe we been to Italy three times! I have a heart for Eastern Europe we traveled to Estonia and I loved it. Besides travel, serving at our church, my wife and I help lead a premarital class we have been doing it for 4 years now and love it.
