Inspiring Conversations with Josh Baker of Wolf Bear Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Baker

Hi Josh, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When I first got into video production, it was purely for fun—just experimenting and playing around with a camera. I never imagined it would turn into a career. Fast forward 20 years, and I’ve directed TV commercials across the United States. Today, I’m launching my own media marketing and video production company, Wolf Bear Media, marking an exciting new chapter in my professional journey.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely not been smooth, but I’ve come to realize that anything worth doing well won’t be easy. I spent years learning the craft and refining my skills, but one of the biggest challenges was not recognizing my own value early on. That lack of awareness can drain both time and energy. Over time, I’ve learned that the difficult path is often the right one. After interviewing hundreds of people, I’ve never met anyone who’s achieved success by saying, “It was an easy road.” My new life motto has become, “Embrace adversity, chase failure, and explore the world.”

We’ve been impressed with Wolf Bear Media, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I decided to start my own video production and marketing agency this year named Wolf Bear Media. It has been a long time in the making and a natural career progression for me.

Every brand has a story and I am an expert at elevating industries that are underserved creatively.

At Wolf Bear, we don’t just produce premium video content—we tell your story effectively to make a real difference in your business. Our focus is on partnering with clients to bring their vision to life, while adding real value. We have mastered balancing the chaos of art and the discipline of business.

I’ve had the chance to direct TV commercials in the largest cities all across the country–along with music videos, documentaries, testimonials, product demos, and short films. Each project is an opportunity to not only meet expectations but find creative solutions that push the boundaries as world-class problem solvers. I’ve filmed TV commercials with professional baseball legend Nolan Ryan, reality TV star—the Duck Commander, Phil Robertson, and partnered with nationally recognized non profits like the Folds of Honor. I’m an expert at what I do and am committed to my partners success as much as my own.

Any big plans?
I have a wealth of experience working with the trades and service based businesses to help them elevate their creative, generate leads, and grow their business. I look forward to helping many more business and forming a multitude of new relationships.

In addition to launching my business Wolf Bear, I’m working with a non-profit to help the next generation find their voice in filmmaking. This will take the next several months to plan and launch but am excited to help many young people find a career in video production.
