Inspiring Conversations with Kelsey Sheets of The Loveliest Home

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Sheets.

Hi Kelsey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My story is a colorful one! I spent the last decade planning events all over the country for two presidential campaigns and a former first family. After moving back home to Texas, I opened a retail store called The Loveliest Company with my mom and sister. It was a beautiful eclectic home store in the historic Fairmount district of Dallas. We offered in-house embroidery and linens for the home. As we all know, owning a retail store is more than a full-time job. After having two babies within 15 months, it became difficult to split my time. We made the decision to close our retail shop in December of 2020. After taking on some design projects and having a total blast with it, I decided to jump in headfirst with creating a company that combines my talents, love for design, and the art of entertaining with what I most love to do, which is sharing an ever-changing curated selection of my favorite things and where to buy them.

Thus, The Loveliest Home was born!

My hope is to inspire by sharing resources and tools that allow every individual to create a beautiful home or a stellar event!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been remarkably smooth, considering all the changes and turns that my career has taken. There are growing pains, learning experiences, and difficult situations to work through, but I try to learn from them and move along!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Loveliest Home is an interior design and event styling studio. We work with clients all over the country and offer design services of all shapes and sizes. Full-service design, project consultations, paint consultations, home styling services, and event styling services are amongst some of the services we offer. We fully believe that working with an interior designer should be a fun process and not at all intimidating!

If you were to ask any of my clients why they chose to hire me, my guess is that they would tell you I have a knack for working with just the right amount of color! I love to use color (big fan of chartreuse and anything blue or green), mix patterns (lover of all things gingham), use lots of wallpaper (there’s no such thing as too much), and mix natural tones like rattan and grasscloth covered furniture to make it all work.

The way your home makes you feel is so important. I absolutely love what I do and find such joy in creating a happy home for my clients!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I’m incredibly grateful for the creative spirit and support that my entire family has always given me. It’s a constant juggling act to be a working mom, and I wouldn’t be able to do it without the love and support from my sweet husband. I’m also beyond grateful for all of my clients and the trust that they have in me. I’ve always said that there’s nothing more precious or fun than friends who are clients and clients who become friends.
