Inspiring Conversations with Kyle Hancock of Texas Oilers Baseball & Softball

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Hancock.

Hi Kyle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Our organization was founded in the Fall of 2012. We both had concluded our professional baseball playing careers and both of us (Kyle Hancock/Danny Hamblin) knew that we wanted to remain around the game and make an impact on the youth baseball players of today.

Since 2012, we have took pride in simply doing things the right way. We hang our hats on doing right by the families within our organization and the players in our program.

Since 2012 we have expanded and now have locations in Royse City as well as Forney. We have other things in the works although those announcements are coming soon!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an entrepreneur is never a smooth road but the challenges and obstacles along the way is what makes this journey such a joy.

With our line of business, we look to provide value to our players and families along with an atmosphere that is conducive to them growing as young men and women as we have a Softball arm in our program as well.

When you can work on the business and not always in the business, it helps. By default, we work in our business although we feel it is imperative to continue to have a work/life balance as we typically spend more time with our players and organizational families than we do our own at times.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Texas Oilers Baseball & Softball?
Texas Oilers Baseball & Softball was established in the Fall 0f 2012. We are a select/travel baseball and softball organization that has teams from ages 6u through 18u. We compete locally, regionally and nationally and have sent close to 80 players to play collegiately while also having players in professional baseball.

We also offer individual lessons, camps and clinics as well as sport-specific physical training through our Strength & Conditioning programs.

What does success mean to you?
Success is defined in so many different ways for us. We pride ourselves on instruction and development therefore to see any of our players have their own individual success, this means the world to us. In our industry, the kids are often second thought to the business and we have continuously put our players and families first.

As we continue to do things the right way, any tangible and financial opportunities will take care of themselves although those things have never been a focus or a part of our core beliefs in running our program.
