Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Stewart.
Hi Leah, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’m Leah Stewart. I’m in the 12th grade and I am 17 years old. I am currently in Dallas, Texas. During lunch, my mother and I decided to start a business. In April 2017 I set up my own business selling lemonade. Since I was eleven years old, it’s always been a passion of mine to make lemonade. When I started my lemonade business I was afraid of being myself. I was scared in the beginning not knowing but a few people of my age in Dallas, Texas. That was a battle for me to get into networking at that time. My slogan is ” Fresh is the Best Lemonade.” For my lemonade, I have made a lot of flavours like strawberry, blue raspberry, traditionally regular ,and raspberry. It is because it’s freshly squeezed with drops of fresh fruit that come from less sugar that makes my lemonade so unique. Lemonade day is the organization that I founded with my mother. You’ll be able to sell your lemonade at a sponsored location near your local store on Lemonade Day. I made more than $250.00 in four hours on the day of the lemonade event. I’ve made an investment of $75.00 back into Lemonade foundation. For over six years, I’ve been sponsored by the Lemonade Day Company. Throughout my lemonade success, I have reached my goals by exceeding over 100 sales, attending vendor events in Dallas Texas. I’ve had a lot of satisfied customers who are excited about buying my custom fishbowl cups when I do vendor events. My customers are between three to fifty years of age. I’ve gained a lot of insight about budgeting and financial etiquette because of my success. I’ve learned discipline and critical thinking as a result of selling lemonade. The community has developed a diversity of intelligence that I can leverage with my consumers at other levels. It brings joy in my heart to give back to the community. It feels great to have a positive impact on someone else’s life. My dream and vision came to life thanks to my mom and the community, with the support it became possible.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some of the challenges I faced while selling lemonade was getting out of the phase of anxiety and fear .To try to show my personality was one of the most serious challenges I faced when I began. I’ve been a soft, delicate girl who didn’t like to break down into my own skin. As I continued my lemonade journey, I became more aware and more transparent. I’ve been so busy talking to people, until I started learning the rules of business. The hot summer weather was another challenge that I had to face. I’m a big fan of summer weather, but sometimes it gets really hot in the daytime.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Leah Monae Lemonade?

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
As a result of the Covid 19 epidemic, we have adopted safety practices for interactions with our customers. As a precaution against the pandemic, we’ve started using card readers and accepting online payments. When we were interacting with consumers, we’d disinfect and clean up. To protect our own health, as well as that of the community, we were wearing gloves and masks. Without the mask on our face, we were socially isolated and had no interaction. In order to keep our community safe and clean, we cleaned up after ourselves and disposed of any trash.
