Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Aboellhasan.
Liz, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a mom and wife living in Texas in 2010, baking up cakes and cookies with the help of videos, tutorials, and recipes was a common occurrence in my home. Our kitchen would get filled with yummy treats, and from early on, I developed a love for baking and coming up with new designs and ideas. I had a few family members actually fall in love with my creations and started ordering sweets for events, and then it just kind of took off from there, and I started a Facebook page Liz’s Sweet Delights, and started taking orders from family, friends and new customers in the DFW area. I was experimenting with cakes and cupcakes and cake pops and creating fun one of kind orders for my customers. It wasn’t too crazy yet; I was only creating a couple of orders a month, and I was able to juggle my two main jobs.
When life became busier as a mom of four living in north Fort Worth in 2020, the Pandemic hit, and we were all stuck at home and I was able to start baking more often and perfecting my desserts, and my small business sort of blew up, and I was blessed with so many custom cake orders, and it kept me busy during all the craziness 2020 and 2021 was. Running my own small business struggled to find time to complete everyday mom responsibilities, but I still enjoyed baking and found the perfect outlet for my creativity. When I began creating custom cakes again, I realized I could still create something pretty to look at and delicious too! I’ve been blessed with wonderful customers who give me all the creative freedom to come up with amazing cakes that match their party themes.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been easy having a child that struggles with chronic kidney disease and has many appointments. It has been hard with juggling my small business and Dr appointments, and many hospital admissions. But thankfully, with the help of family, I am able to do both.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I offer custom cakes, cake pops, cupcakes, and dessert tables. I have gluten-free options and sugar-free options for almost every type of cake or treat.
Cakes start at $70 for my 6-inch cakes.
What are your plans for the future?
My dream is to eventually open a bakery and small Coffee shop here in the north Fort Worth area. Where I’m able to display my cakes and I’m able to take more orders as I will have a big professional kitchen that I can create more sweets from!
