Hi Lola, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Grand Prairie, TX, alongside my older brother, Alex, and my parents, Bodunrin and Olamide. Growing up, I always had a love for people—talking, taking care of others, and helping in any way I could. I remember constantly getting in trouble for talking too much in school—my teachers called me a “social butterfly”!
That love for people eventually led me to become a registered nurse, and I graduated in 2016 with an amazing class of nurses. While I truly enjoy caring for others, I always knew there was more I wanted to do. I’m a creative at heart—I love DIY projects, designing, celebrations, and learning how to bring new ideas to life. I spent months trying to figure out how to merge my passion for people with my love for creativity, and that’s how Youtopia Events and Rentals was born.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Balancing motherhood, marriage, and working bedside as a nurse while building a business has been challenging. I often find myself waking up before my son or staying up late after he sleeps to work on Youtopia. I’ve spent countless hours learning about photography, business, and marketing because my goal is to exemplify excellence in everything I do.
Photos last a lifetime—we’re creating unforgettable moments that people can look back on and treasure forever. But behind the scenes, it’s a lot of hard work. Most times, I’m the one carrying all the heavy equipment by myself, setting up, and making sure everything runs smoothly. No matter how tough it gets, I remind myself to stay disciplined and motivated. I hold onto my faith and the belief that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

The name Youtopia is an integration of the words “You” and “Utopia”—a place where everything is perfect. That’s exactly what we strive to create for our clients: a flawless, immersive experience that brings their vision to life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I wouldn’t call it luck—I’d definitely say it’s God’s grace, faith, and perseverance that have brought me this far. Every opportunity I’ve had has come from putting in the work, staying consistent, and trusting God’s timing. As well as having a strong loving, supportive, encouraging team of my husband Reuben & parents Olamide & Bodunrin who have been my rock!
I spend late nights cold emailing companies, DMing, and reaching out to potential clients, sharing the value my photo booth can bring to their events. I remind myself that the worst they can do is say no or not respond—but every ‘no’ just brings me closer to the right ‘yes.’
This journey has been about showing up, staying disciplined, and believing in the vision, even when things don’t go as planned. I truly believe that when you put in the effort and keep your faith strong, doors will open in ways you never expected.
