Hi Lorena, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my creative journey designing handcrafted accessories, starting with basketball-style statement earrings. As a former dance mom, I expanded into custom shirts and apparel to help support my daughter’s school and competitive dance team expenses. My passion for art, design, and creating meaningful pieces has always been at the core of everything I do.
When COVID-19 permanently closed my full-time job, I faced a challenging transition. After briefly starting a new role and being let go, God turned what could have been a setback into an opportunity. That moment inspired me to pursue entrepreneurship full time and build my brand, UN1K Kreationz. What began as a hobby has grown into a small business specializing in custom apparel and business branding essentials, where I focus on delivering unique, high-quality products with a unique touch.
I started with one heat press and a plotter and taught myself design and production from the ground up. That journey required resilience, determination, and a strong commitment to learning, not to mention a ton of YouTube tutorials. To expand my skills and enhance the quality of my work, I returned to school to pursue a degree in Communication with a concentration in Graphic Design. I am proud to be graduating in Spring 2026.
I am deeply grateful for the support of my husband, who encouraged me to focus on school and my business. My experience has strengthened my creativity, discipline, and entrepreneurial mindset, and I am excited to continue growing as a designer and business owner.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth ride at all. Due to not having funds to pay for training and some software needed, I had to teach myself a lot of what I know today. It helped me in school because I knew a little more than some of my classmates but I still struggled a bit with some of the new technology. Photoshop and Illustrator to be exact. I had never used either of the software suites before which was one of the reasons I went back to school.
I knew that being a designer, I needed to know how to design on multiple platforms and to keep up with competition I had a few more things to learn.
We’ve been impressed with UN1K Kreationz, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
UN1K Kreationz began as a hobby with no name. In 2019, I sat down and made a decision to pivot. Working in the non profit community for over 10 years gave me the knowledge I needed to help people. As an Executive Director for 7 years, it also taught me how to run a business.
I specialize in branded and custom apparel. UN1K Kreationz stands out because I don’t just create products; I create personal, meaningful brand experiences. Every item is custom-designed with intention, and my focus goes beyond aesthetics. I take time to understand each client’s vision, brand personality, and goals, so the final product feels personal, professional, and truly unique to them. I see each project as a partnership not just a transaction.
I am most proud of my Brand Bundles. They are set up to help other business owners whether they are just starting out or have already started but it wasn’t the best, it just got them by. It gives them the ability to upgrade their current website or just create one without breaking the bank. It helps them to market themselves by bundling business cards, mini postcards, banners and signs for a fraction of the c0st.
