Today we’d like to introduce you to Makayla Payton.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started off being a regular girl that absolutely loved long nails and bright designs! All throughout high school, everybody knew how much I loved my nails. One day I woke up and decided I was going to buy a nail kit and start my business, and doing nails just came so naturally. I bumped my head a lot to get where I am today, I made a few mistakes starting out but it only prepared me for what was ahead!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being an entrepreneur has been very challenging! The road hasn’t been smooth but it has been very rewarding. When I first began, I was young, and only knew that I loved nails. I didn’t have anyone there to hold my hand and teach me the components of running a successful business so I had to make a lot of sacrifices and take a few losses! I appreciate the bumps in the road because it only prepared me for the greater things God had in store!

Solo Beauty Bar is a one-stop-shop that specializes in acrylic nails and toes, eyelashes extension, and full body waxing! I take pride in providing quality work and a fun experience. I love to see my clients smile and be happy about the services they received. My drive and strong will go stay on top are what set me apart. There’s a lot of people doing nails but my personality and overall genuine attitude make me different! I’m super proud to be offering classes teaching other passionate girls about what I love!
What are your plans for the future?
If it’s the Lord’s will my plans for the future include opening a beauty school and owning a beauty bar! I don’t have any big changes as of now but I have faith that God is preparing something big to come!
