Today we’d like to introduce you to Myndee Mack.
Hi Myndee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Writing has always been my way of making sense of the world. I started writing short stories in elementary school and have been keeping a journal for as long as I can remember. I write to process. I write to heal. I write to help others heal and know they aren’t alone. For a while, I was lucky enough to write for a living. In my early thirties, with three little kids running around, I wrote for a parenting publication where I connected with moms across the country by sharing my parenting trials and triumphs.
In 2019, I published my first self-improvement book, and that same year, for my 39th birthday, my husband gifted me a tarot deck. I knew nothing about the cards, but I knew they were meant for me. I felt an instant connection and dove in headfirst—learning everything I could, practicing daily, and reading for friends and family. I found a new way to help others heal and know they weren’t alone. It was magical, and for the first time, I felt like I was living my purpose. Over the next few years, I kept reading and writing. My list of tarot clients grew, and I was on track to publish my second book when, in 2022, my husband died unexpectedly.
My world stopped. Everything went dark.
All I could do was focus on getting myself and my kids from one day to the next, and I could barely do that. I shut down my website. I stopped seeing clients. I stopped writing. It was almost as if I stopped living.
Slowly but surely, with the help of therapy, Tarot, and good friends, I started coming back to myself. I’ve since published two books, I started reading Tarot at local events and parties, and while there’s still work to do, I’m grateful to be doing it. I’m in the process of getting my website back up and running, and my Instagram is still private (I might actually leave it that way, but you’re welcome to follow me @moxieandmagick)
I don’t have it all figured out yet. I’m still learning to navigate life, love, motherhood and business as a widow, but I’m learning to do it with a little bit of moxie and a little bit of magick.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Outside of losing my husband, I’ve faced other challenges while building my metaphysical business. One of the biggest was disappointing my religious family. They accept and love me, but they’re not exactly fond of the work I do. Things are smoother now, but that was a difficult hurdle to navigate early on.
And of course, being a working mother has its own set of challenges. Finding balance, focus, and energy while raising kids has never been easy, and it’s still a work in progress.
Then there’s the imposter syndrome, which runs deep in my veins. I used to be, and sometimes still am, my own biggest obstacle. Over time, I’ve learned to trust my gifts and stay out of my own way more often. But to be honest, even participating in this interview is pushing me a little outside my comfort zone.
As you know, we’re big fans of Moxie and Magick. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I wear a few different hats, but at my core, I’m a writer, healer, and tarot reader who helps people find magic in their own lives. I weave together the mystical and the pragmatic, helping people blend intention with action to create lives that feel both grounded and enchanted.
I specialize in turning lived experience into something healing… both for myself and for others. I’ve published several books, including The Life-Changing Magic of Self-Love and Domestic Goddess, both centered on finding love, meaning and wonder in everyday life, and both available on Amazon.
I’m honored to work with people locally and across the country, helping them find clarity, connection, and a deeper sense of purpose. I’m currently focused on reading tarot at parties and events, joining book clubs as a guest author, and leading groups through rituals that teach you how to weave intention and magic into your daily routines.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Such a great question!
I’ve experienced both good and bad luck throughout my life and career, and life has surprised me in ways that have stretched my heart in every direction. Sometimes, things that I thought were bad luck turned out to be some of the best things that ever happened to me. I wouldn’t say the “bad luck” moments were meant to happen, but they’ve undeniably shaped me and helped me become who I am today.
I’ve learned that luck isn’t always what it seems. Even when life seemingly falls apart, there’s still beauty in how we piece it back together.
