Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Taylor
Hi Nicholas, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my professional career as a CNC Machinist. I attended trade school for Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering while completing an apprenticeship thru an industry leading CNC Machine Tool manufacturing facility. After 10 years in the industry I switched gears to pursue other career paths and passions. I moved up to a position in sales for an Industrial Supply company, held an adventurous position with a roadside assistance fleet, and pursued Personal Training with a premium fitness brand.
As someone with a background in engineering and a gift for problem solving, my free time was often spent helping a friend or family member with fixes or builds around their homes. I signed up to work thru Taskrabbit with the intention of building furniture and completing small home fixes part-time. Within the first few clients I realized that being a “handyman” came naturally and felt extremely rewarding. My popularity grew and I quickly became a top ranking Taskr. What started as a part-time, supplemental income commitment quickly spawned into a full time blessing. To branch out on my own felt to be the next step in my journey. The goal was to create my own business to tailor fixes of all types to the specific needs of the client. Enter- Taylored Hand!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For me the biggest challenge has been to give myself grace as my business grows and prospers. Building a business from scratch requires a great deal of time, dedication, flexibility, accountability, but most importantly confidence in myself. Any struggle that I have been met with along my journey has been a moment to grow and perfect my craft. Maintaining a proper schedule, planning ahead, and adding new tools to the toolbox on a continuous basis has kept me on course.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
People may forget what you painted, built, or installed for them. But they will remember how you made them feel and the level of service provided. The greatest currency a person and business can have is their effect on others.
