Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Muller.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
After graduating from HPHS, I attended the University of Arkansas for college and graduate school to earn a master’s in early childhood education. After school, I moved home to Dallas and taught first grade for two years prior to moving to New York City. In NYC, I explored many different careers from teaching to nannying to special events to hospitality to luxury brand partnerships to public relations. I loved living in NYC and all the joys and challenges that came along with it. However, 7 years in the city meant missing out on many things back home – engagements, weddings, baby showers, tough times, and special moments. I searched and searched for things to send to friends and family to let them know I was thinking of them. But nothing felt elevated or thoughtful enough. So, when COVID hit NYC, my now fiancé and I moved to Dallas and began putting the pieces of our life back together and building our new lives here in Dallas. I decided to make small cheese + charcuterie boxes to deliver to friends one Friday afternoon to lift their spirits and let them know I was thinking of them during this pandemic. I dropped boxes off on their porches with handwritten notes sending love. They LOVED them – they posted on social media and then their friends wanted one and ordered, and then they posted on social media and their friends wanted and ordered and the snowball continued…and now, almost two years later, we have the ultimate pleasure of spreading joy all around Dallas for all the occasions.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say it has certainly been a windy road…but every obstacle, every challenge, every setback provides you with the opportunity to reevaluate and look at everything from a different perspective. To change, to adjust, to grow. Owning your own business is not for the faint of heart — but it certainly is rewarding – just like most things that are challenging!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Boxed Bites is a small, women-owned business that specializes in boxed delicacies for all the occasions. We are most known for our cheese + charcuterie boxes. We also enjoy making caviar boxes with all the accoutrements for NYE and Valentine’s Day, we create custom boxes for baby showers, special events, and corporate parties often. Everything from chocolate-covered strawberries to tea sandwiches to chicken salad with grapes and crostini’s. We love working with our customers to create exactly what they need for certain events.
I believe there are three things that truly set us apart from other companies – first, our customer service, secondly, our attention to detail, and third, the special, thoughtful touches — ex: each box is accompanied with a handwritten note. These are special details – that take time and extra thought which is most important to our customers.
To be honest, I am most proud of our repeat customers and referrals. 99% of our customers are repeat customers which is a huge compliment to the brand. More times than not, when someone receives Boxed Bites as a gift, within the first 24 hours, that recipient places an order to send Boxed Bites to someone or orders again for themself. That is a huge compliment and something I am very proud of.
We enjoy and focus on large-scale events – corporate events, office meetings, real estate open houses, private events etc. Our cuties are the perfect covid friendly individualized snack box for large-scale events. Each box can be customized to your liking (our classic cheese + charcuterie or gluten-free or vegetarian) to accommodate allergies in large groups. The boxes are tied with natural twine and dried lavender for an extremely elevated look – perfect for any type of event.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Just start. I think so many times in life we wait until we feel ready – for everything — a move, a new job, a career change, to have kids, etc etc etc… but you will never be fully ready. You just have to take the leap and figure it out as you go because I promise, you will!
