Today we’d like to introduce you to Rashauwn Jones.
Hi Rashauwn, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’m originally from Chicago and moved to the Dallas area with my aunt and her family for high school. My mother wanted me to escape the violence and negative influences in Chicago. High school was great, but upon graduating I found the transition to be difficult. The majority of my friends went to college or the military, but I knew that wasn’t for me. I embarked on a journey to become the best version of me through proper nutrition and exercise. It was natural because I’m such a sports enthusiast, from tennis to skiing, I love it all. After being frequently asked about training people and nutrition plans, I decided to start hosting video workouts, inspirational, and nutritional tips and it took off. I successfully built my social media presence, and the next step was to develop an apparel line focused on fitness. And that’s where RJ Athletics was conceived, developed, and produced.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road because my aunt and her husband divorced my senior year of high school. Then COVID brought new challenges when I lost my job. In August 2020, my dear grandmother passed, and we were very close. That led to me being depressed and unmotivated. Towards the end of 2021, I finally got another job, but I wasn’t I had zero passion for it, it was just a job. So, after leaving that job, I had trouble finding myself and what my purpose was. And that’s when my aunt, who’s also my personal manager, encouraged me to pursue fitness modeling and influencing.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about RJones Enterprise?
RJones Enterprise is not just a business, it’s my Brand. It encompasses my social media persona as an influencer, modeling, and acting, and retail. I’m a sports and fitness enthusiast, so that’s my area of focus. I believe that your body is a temple and should be treated as such. And I inspire and motivate others to embark on their personal journeys. My apparel line, RJ Athletics, is for men and women who want quality, comfortable, stylish, and affordable clothing to help them do just that.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Brick-and-mortar retail stores have declined significantly, and e-commerce has largely replaced it. Along with this, I think that consumers want to identify with the businesses they are spending their money with. This means that influencers such as myself can grow with the support of our loyal followers because they feel as we can connect with them far better than large cooperations.
