Today we’d like to introduce you to Ray Young, Jr. . They and their team shared their story with us below:
Mr. Young faced various adversities and life situations that many people can relate to. He comes from a single-parent home, is homeless, associated with street life, etc., dropped out of school before the 10th grade, and landed himself in the juvenile justice system multiple times.
Mr. Young lived in the inner-city, where he saw no hope or opportunity around him to excel in life. Moreover, Mr. Young’s passion for people is to educate, uplift, and empower them by using innovative methods. The light and passion in his heart are evident in the work he does to enhance the lives of others. Mr. Young is the author of an empowering children’s book called “Malik and the Magic Bowtie,” which is his first book.
Also, he has recently published his new children’s book called “Malik and the Magic Drumsticks.” Mr. Young has a Bachelor’s degree and two Master’s Degrees and plans to continue his education in a doctorate program or law school; he is the first in his family to graduate from college. Mr. Young is a certified Life Coach and motivational speaker.
Mr. Young has business is called Klear Envisionation, LLC., which focuses on coaching people to avoid being stuck and achieve the unexpected. He is the CEO and Founder of a nonprofit called Young’s Vision Achievement Consulting as well as the Owner and Founder of the MYGO brand, which means “My Greatness Overcomes.”
Mr. Young has many awards and achievements, including the National Service Award from AmeriCorps.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t been easy because I never had anything handed to me or much accessibility. There were many days I didn’t have food, a place to lay my head, or even a helping hand. I lack a clear path or mentor to show me the way to succeed against the odds.
Overcoming the impact of depression, hopelessness, and low self-worth instilled by his difficult circumstances. Breaking the cycles of poverty, negative influence, family fractures, and educational barriers to keep striving for a better future.
