Hi Rebecca, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After dancing, teaching and competing individually for a combined 30+ years, in 2022 we decided to team up to create RL Dance. It became quickly evident that we had similar goals and ideas for our students and our future goals aligned. In 2023, we opened up RL Dance Studio in Burleson, TX. We love the hometown feel of Burleson and the community has been so welcoming and supportive of us. We are thrilled to be building a supportive and inclusive Studio that aims to make YOUR goals a priority. Whether that is your Wedding Dance or competing nationally, or just feeling comfortable on the Dance floor we have teachers and fellow students that will make you feel comfortable working towards your goal.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
A lot of people automatically assume that the studio is for kids (most dance studios are!). So getting the word out that we are here to teach Ballroom dancing for adults and children/youth has been difficult! Our youngest student is 3 years old and our oldest student is 84! There are no age limits to Ballroom Dancing!
We’ve been impressed with RL Dance Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We teach partner dancing of all kinds, for all ages including Ballroom, Latin, Country and Swing dance. We specialize in competitive Pro/Am (a professional and their amateur student) Ballroom, but can tailor our teaching to whatever your goals may be, from being able to two-step at a bar to being able to Waltz in a grand Ballroom!
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Loui was born and raised in Peru and Rebecca was born and raised in England. 20 years ago they both immigrated to different coasts of America and they finally met in Texas in 2019 at a Ballroom Dance competition!
