I came to the United States with nothing but determination, a suitcase, and a belief that life could be bigger than the one I left behind. My early years here were about survival learning the culture, working multiple jobs, and trying to understand a system that wasn’t built for someone like me. I didn’t have connections, mentors, or a roadmap. What I did have was grit.
I entered the insurance and financial services industry with zero experience and zero network. In the beginning, I faced rejection every single day. I was an immigrant woman with an accent, trying to break into a field dominated by people who didn’t look like me. But I kept showing up. I studied harder than anyone, learned the business from the ground up, and built trust one family at a time.
Life tested me in ways I never expected including rebuilding my life from scratch after leaving an abusive marriage. That chapter became the turning point. I decided that if I was going to rise, I would rise with purpose. I rebuilt my business, my confidence, and my identity with a mission: to help families create financial dignity, not just financial plans.
Over the years, that mission carried me from kitchen‑table conversations with clients to global stages. I became a Top of the Table–level advisor — a level less than 1% of advisors ever reach. My work has been featured on CNN, NBC, FOX, ABC, CBS, the Harvard Club of Boston, Nasdaq, and international platforms. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road was never smooth — but every obstacle became part of the foundation I stand on today.
I came to the United States with no money, no support system, and no understanding of how this country worked. I was learning everything from scratch: the language, the culture, the financial system, even how to survive day to day. Those early years were filled with uncertainty, but they also built my resilience.
One of the hardest chapters was my marriage. I survived years of emotional and physical abuse while raising two children who depended entirely on me. Leaving that situation meant starting over from zero — financially, emotionally, and professionally. I had no savings, no safety net, and no roadmap. But I had a decision: either stay broken or rebuild.
When I entered the financial services industry, the challenges didn’t stop. I was an immigrant woman with an accent in a field dominated by men. I faced rejection daily. People underestimated me, dismissed me, or assumed I wouldn’t last. I didn’t have connections or a network — I had to build everything from the ground up.
Then came the recession. While many people were leaving the industry, I refused to quit. I studied harder, learned tax-free retirement strategies, and focused on serving families who were scared and confused. That period forced me to innovate, adapt, and become the advisor I am today.
Every struggle — immigration, abuse, rebuilding, recession, rejection — shaped my mission. They taught me empathy, discipline, and the importance of financial dignity. They made me the kind of advisor who doesn’t just talk about money, but about freedom, safety, and generational strength.
