Today we’d like to introduce you to Roy Wragth.
Hi Roy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Roy and I’ve always had a passion for cars. As a child, I would spend my afternoons working at my neighbor’s garage building hot rods. After completing my education, I joined the military and worked on helicopter powerplants. Upon leaving the military, I went on to work at NASA and Google’s self-driving car project Waymo. With all the skills and experience I gained, I decided to open my own performance shop, Wragth Motorsports. Cars and engines have always been a part of my life, so opening this business made perfect sense.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Starting and running a business has been both challenging and rewarding. There are always obstacles and challenges that come up, and you can’t always plan for them. I’ve faced mental and emotional challenges, fear, and uncertainty. But, in order to succeed, you have to jump in and give it your all. My advice would be to take care of your mental and physical health and find something that keeps you sane. For me, that’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the gym, and helping others.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Wragth Motorsports is a veteran-owned automotive repair shop that specializes in late-model high-performance vehicles. We offer a wide range of services including general repair, custom builds, upgrades, and tuning.
Any big plans?
My goal is to grow the business to the point where it becomes autonomous. I am constantly working on systems and processes to shape the company’s policies and procedures, while also promoting a fun and enjoyable work environment. My philosophy is to work hard, put your best foot forward, lead with value, and most importantly, have fun while doing it. Additionally, I believe in looking out for each other in the company and ensuring I provide my team with the tools and resources they need to succeed both professionally and personally.
