Hi Ryan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey has really been about service and education—finding ways to help people both on and off the clock. For my primary career, I serve in law enforcement for a local municipality here in North Texas. My day job is rooted in public safety and protecting the community, but behind the scenes, I’ve always had a deep passion for financial literacy.
Over time, I saw how many people were incredibly stressed about their finances simply because they were never taught the basic frameworks for managing money and building wealth. I wanted to bridge that gap, which led me to start financial coaching and to recently launching my online platform, Polite Money. Through Polite Money, my goal is to build a community and share practical, actionable tools with people who are looking to take control of their financial futures.
As I taught those business and financial principles, I also wanted to put them into practice in a physical space. That entrepreneurial drive recently sparked my newest venture, Polite Pantry, where we’re bringing an upscale, modernized vending experience to properties around the area.
Balancing a demanding career in law enforcement with trying to start a business requires a lot of time and effort, but it’s entirely fueled by my family. My wife and our daughters are my ultimate ‘why.’ Between serving the city, coaching clients, doings sales calls, and running to extracurricular events, everything I’m building is to create a lasting foundation for them.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think any entrepreneur who tells you otherwise is leaving out a few things!
The first major hurdle was simply time management. Working in law enforcement is a demanding, high-stress career. When you add building Polite Money, launching a physical business like Polite Pantry, and prioritizing my family, it means a lot of early mornings and late nights. Making sure my businesses didn’t cause me to miss everything happening in my families lives forced me to become relentlessly efficient.
But internally, the biggest struggle was pushing through self-doubt. When I started Polite Money and began stepping in front of the camera to talk about personal finance, I felt incredibly vulnerable. Anytime you put yourself out there or step outside the traditional path—especially coming from a highly structured field like law enforcement—you face a real fear of judgment.
I had to make a conscious choice to stop caring about other people’s opinions. I realized that if I was going to build something meaningful, I had to unapologetically believe in myself and my vision, even if others didn’t understand it at first. Tuning out the noise and trusting my own capabilities was a massive mental shift.
Combining that mindset with the physical logistics of getting Polite Pantry off the ground—learning the operations and location scouting through trial and error—has been challenging. But navigating those hurdles, blocking out the doubts, and proving to myself that I can execute on my ideas is exactly what builds true confidence.

Without a doubt, what matters most to me is my family and the legacy I am building for them. Everything I do—whether it is serving the community through law enforcement, educating people through Polite Money, or building Polite Pantry—ultimately comes back to my wife, Samantha, and our daughters.
My greatest priority is teaching my girls how to be strong, successful young women. I want them to grow up seeing firsthand that there are absolutely no limits to what they can achieve when they set their minds to something and are willing to put in the hard work.
But even more important than business or financial success is the foundation they stand on. The true legacy I want to pass down is more about who’s they are then who they are: if you keep Jesus first and genuinely love and treat people with respect, the right doors will naturally open for you. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without the favor of the Lord and so I try to honor God in everything I do and live my life as an example of that to my family.
