Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Tolbert.
Hi Sarah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I started with a very dark past honestly. Once I came to know the Lord, everything changed. I knew I was called to serving others. My entire life I was the peacemaker, I was the neutral party. I always listened to everyone’s side, everyone’s story. I knew there had to be more and I was always intrigued by human behavior. It turned dark when I started to notice my own behavior and patterns. Once I got through all that, I continued to feel the call, the urge to help others see their own behaviors, patterns, and toxic ways of thinking. Before I knew it, I had a mentor, was enrolled in college for the 15th time, studying psychology, and on my way to becoming a certified life coach. In light of my story, I was blessed to have so many opportunities that showed me I was on the right path to healing and growth, not just for myself, but for many others. I completed my undergrad internship at my church counseling and coaching couples and individuals as well as providing premarital counseling for newly engaged couples. I was given the opportunity through that process to become a certified belief therapist to which I worked with many couples, families, and the start of my career working with children and young adults. I moved on to working with couples and relationships as a director at the Marriage and Life Enrichment Boot Camp (as seen on TV). Through all of this I knew my niche was going to be relationships, but that doesn’t just start and stop with marriages and committed relationships, this blossomed into working with families, children and their friendships, adults and their many relationships with partners, family, friends, and even co-workers. My practice now expands to ALL relationships, all over the world, even other countries!!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh gosh no! Not even a little. I have had so many struggles, I could write a novel! lol I went through so much adversity…attachment issues, drug and alcohol abuse, abortion, toxic relationships, single parenthood, financial destruction, church family issues, the loss of my brother and my sister within a year, sooooo much loss, so much abuse and destruction over the years. BUT I know that God allowed all of it for my purpose now, to help others. I didn’t understand it all at the time, but the last 10 years or so I have encountered so many people, hundreds of people I have coached or ministered to that I completely understand because I have been through everything they have. It’s not just my knowledge, it’s the rough road that leads me to people and helps them along the way. I am grateful for my struggles.
We’ve been impressed with SarahTCoaching, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I help people that feel hopeless, stuck, and unmotivated find purpose, peace, and PASSION in their lives! I teach people how to transform their lives by transforming their thoughts to bring about what they truly want in life. What sets me apart is I don’t take years and years to help people, it’s their journey, I show them their mind and THEY make the choice with my guidance to move forward or not. Once I show them their minds, they are HIGHLY motivated for change. It is the ABSOLUTE MOST rewarding thing in my practice…to see the hopeless end our time together full of hope and promise and ACTIVELY making changes to gift themselves a more fulfilling happy life. And the coolest thing I see is people thriving and helping others after our time together! It’s absolutely beautiful and amazing to see!!! I offer one method that works for ALL, yes, I mean ALL circumstances!!! It works, and it works quickly! Not a quick fix, though speedy process, it is a change for FOR LIFE. I also offer 30-minute consultations to anyone curious about my services.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Oh gosh, definitely time with my family. We had a pool and a neighborhood full of friends. We were always bouncing between houses/pools over the weekends and holidays having parties and gatherings with our friends. I remember so many cookouts and late-night swims in our pool. Family has always been so important to me, probably because of this, but I have also learned that with our neighborhood community of friends, that family is not always just blood relatives, it’s the people you do life with. I will always cherish those times my family and I had with our tiny community of families, and I am still in contact with many of them today. I remember fishing with my dad and siblings, lounging in the pool with my mom, and just being there with my family. I miss my brother and sister deeply, but those childhood memories keep them alive in my heart today. I am so grateful for the family I had and I try to create traditions like those with my family now.
