Inspiring Conversations with Shamise Williams of Motto Mortgage Bold

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shamise Williams.

Hi Shamise, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Shamise Williams. I am a wife, mother, and businesswoman. I founded my non-profit organization, Picked Pretty Pearls, Inc. in June 2015 after making the decision to leave a 10-year career in Corporate America. I worked 10-12 hours 6 days a week and needed to spend more time with my family. During this time off, I began to seek my purpose and God provided clear instructions to me. He said, “I want you to start a leadership program for Black girls. Don’t worry about the details, just go”. So, I began to do the work and P3 was born. My goal is to empower Black girls to see themselves as leaders. To take up space and use their voices to affect positive change in their communities. My team and I have developed programs (The LeadHER Circle), products (Pearl Packs), and a platform (PearlTalk!) that empowers, enhances, and fosters leadership skills in Black and Brown girls. I am most proud of the opportunities we’ve had to speak with girls at our annual Girls in Pearls Luncheon. Various Black and Brown women in leadership, volunteer their time to mentor and share their experiences about various topics concerning girls of color.

As the Broker/Owner of Motto Mortgage Bold, a mortgage brokerage located in Duncanville, TX. We provide consumers with various home loan options. We educate clients on the process of purchasing a home and oversee the transaction from pre-approval to clear to close. It is a very rewarding career and I enjoy helping people secure the most important purchase of their lives! I also enjoy employing others and introducing people of color to a career as a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator. Choosing a career as a licensed MLO provides a career/life balance, flexibility, unlimited income potential, and the ability to be of service to your community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being an entrepreneur is not an easy road to travel. Most days are great, but there are moments when I wish I could just clock in at a job. There are many challenges to overcome as a business owner, especially in the beginning. Including self-doubt, support from family/friends, acquiring business loans to grow, and hiring quality candidates. It has been my experience that people want to see you become successful before they support you. As a business owner, you have to be prepared for everything. When challenges arise remember your why. Like most business owners, hiring has been one of my biggest challenges to date.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

We also enjoy educating consumers about the home buying process and helping them secure the biggest purchase of their lives!

Motto Mortgage Bold offers many home loan products on the wholesale channel. This includes, Conventional, VA, FHA, USDA, Jumbo, and so much more!

My team and I love to connect with potential buyers and refinancers to help them successfully navigate the home loan process.

What matters most to you?
In business, what matters most is providing an excellent experience for my clients. The home buying process is emotional. It takes a skilled professional to take a client from pre-approval to clear to close in a timely manner. As a Broker, I am available to my clients anytime, day or night. It is important for me to educate clients on the process while providing first-class service!
