Hi Shilpa and Isaac, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We’re Isaac and Shilpa, two crazy kids who found love in LA and decided to sell everything to travel the world. Before we decided to do this, we knew that we wanted to share the journey and help others live life outside of the box.
We traveled for 6 months and grew a connected platform that crossed continents. We were experiencing the power of social media firsthand. My talent for photography and Shilpa’s passion for helping others utilize the power of social media to create connected communities gave birth to Chic Lotus Digital Marketing. We began with social media marketing. We studied the trends and the various platforms.
Then we began to build a team of equally passionate digital marketers with various skills and abilities to serve our clients even better. Here we are today, a full blown digital marketing company now.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Is anything ever really a smooth road? In my experience, nothing ever really worth having is smooth. Failure and challenges are a part of the ride.
They are what provide the opportunity for growth and betterment.
Initially, our challenge was to have a system in place to create a smooth experience for our clients. There’s a lot of trial and error with this. Having patience with yourself and team members is key here.

What matters most to you?
Authenticity and connection. One downfall about social media is that for many years people have chosen to show a “fake” perfect version of their lives.
It built truly disconnected communities one that was filled with envy and the audience feeling less than.
Today, it is not about that. We are changing and want to make it about building trust and creating true connections. It’s not about us and how companies and brands are amazing. It is about how we can impact the lives of others. How can we serve our communities.
Isaac and I have seen this with our own community, being an interracial couple, we’ve had our own challenges. We’ve openly shared that along with lessons we’ve learned. Since then, we’ve been able to help and connect with so many people around the globe who are going through similar experiences.
It’s not just about companies making money at the end of the day. It’s about connecting and serving.
